If you went to Origins like I did...

Yeah, it seemed quite a bit down from last year. I was there the whole time (Wed-Sun) and it was quite dead. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday it almost seemed empty. Saturday it seemed to pick up quite a bit, though (Sunday, like always, was a bunch of very tired people picking up and heading...

Now that 4e is out, are you into it or sticking with a prior edition?

My group is going to take a serious look at Pathfinder. I like what I've seen so far and have suggested the change over. If the group doesn't want to switch to Pathfinder we will stick with 3.0

    Is anyone sticking with 3.5?

My group currently plays 3.0. We have no desire to switch to 4th edition. We are going to take a serious look at Pathfinder and see if we want to switch to that. We all have quite a few 3.X books and don't feel any desire to invalidate them. In fact, we are all hoping to add to our 3.X set...

D&D 4E Poll: How do you feel about 4E

I voted "0". It's too soon to make any decisions. I've heard some stuff that sounds good; I've heard some stuff that sounds bad. I'll have to wait until it's out and people are playing it before deciding. Also, I figure each of the three core books will run $35 to $40 based upon current...

Survey of non d20 Abilities and Score Generation

Savage Worlds has Agility, Smarts, Spirit, Strength, and Vigor. Each starts at a d4 and you have five increases to spend. Each increase will raise the die by a die type (max d12). So, for example, if you wanted to be very average you could use all five increases to have a d6 in each of the...

    Fast food nick names.

"Taco Hell" for Taco Bell "Golden Trough" for Golden Corral (an all-you-can-eat buffet place) "Office Whatever" for the Office Depot and Office Max that are across the street from each other and I can never remember which is which.

    re-rolling 1's

We don't re-roll 1's in character generation, but we do roll two sets of 6 numbers and take the better set. For Hit Points we allow re-rolling of 1's until you don't get a 1. Or, the player can take the average without rolling. We also re-roll 1's for all Cure Spells.

    Remember that...

Remember when the Professor figured out a way to get them off the island and Gilligan screwed it up?

    "Reality" Shows

I view that most of the current "Reality Shows" are actually just Game Shows with a little different format/presentation. Shows like Survivor and The Amazing Race are just game shows with contestants trying to win big prizes ($1 Million for first place), just like in Price is Right and...

    Psyched about adventures

I'm looking forward to see what WoTC produces for their adventures. What I really hope is that they do another adventure path or something similar, like Shackled City. I've got the hard back and it's very impressive. I've basically heard nothing but good things about the Shackled City, so...

    Help with finding playmat

I was just getting mine around to take to a game tonight so I looked: each tile is essentially 10" x 10" And I'm a minute slow! :)

    Help with finding playmat

I'll second the mention of Tact-tiles. They're just great. I picked up the set of 12 at Origins this year and there's no going back to the Chessex battlemat. Being dry erase they are a lot easier to clean up and the modularity makes them so much easier to use.

Which On-line SRD do you use?

    I'm a 3.0 heretic so I use the zombler SRD: http://www.zombler.org/files/srd30a/

Spycraft + Iron Heroes: street date for the books?

I stopped by my FLGS, in Fairborn, Ohio, on the way home from work and picked up Iron Heroes, Spycraft 2.0 and the Shackled City hardcover. Happy, but expensive, Day! :)

    *

They still have the 5-minute 4 on 4 overtime and if there's a tie after the 5 minutes they go to the shootout. I actually like the 4 on 4 overtime. It really opens up the ice and allows the fast and skilled players to actually contribute as opposed to in the regular 5 on 5 where all you need...

    *

All the new rules being implemented for the coming year seem like good ones. Except for the shoot-out thing. I'd rather have tie games then a shoot-out. They are going to crack down on interference, but that usually only lasts for about the first month of the season.

    EnWorlders at Origins?

Hey, IamTheTest, I'll try to answer your questions and hopefully I'll be helpful! Last year was my first year, but based on what I saw then I don't think you'll be looked at funny for anything. There were stormtroopers, there were women in chainmail bikinis, there was even one woman who had a...
