Devinihm looks flabbergasted as Mab describes the newest threat, but assures the humans, "It could be worse. You have not yet met the bazzlebaum," he says gravely.

Still, despite Mab's expertise, the wilden feels he should at least look at the tracks himself. He leans down to glance at the tracks in the flour that the others have pointed out.

OOC: Nature check (1d20+13=33) ooh! Nat 20. :)

"Here," Jonathan says, pointing at the tracks on the floor. "A lizard-like creature, likely on two feet, made these tracks. But not one of your kind, Draglin."
It must of been a lizardman! Draglin shouts. Let us find their tracks and follow them to their foul lair! he says, jumping out the kitchen window and running around the grounds, looking for tracks outside.

OOC: Athletics = 20 passive perception=15

The warlord, getting nowhere with the woman, climbs to the top of the roof of the ransacked building to get a better view of the surrounding area.

OOC: athletics check to climb to the roof: 1d20+12 = 28 and passive perception = 16

Max and Draglin both head outside. Inside Devinihm, Dante with Virgil and Jonathan look around while Auntie Mab seems to have the residents of the keep flabbergasted.

[sblock=jkason] The tracks are made by lizardmen of some sort definitely with clawed feet and even tails. Though they aren't of any type you are familiar with (ie kobolds, lizardfolk, etc). Do you know what Dragon tracks look like?[/sblock]

[sblock=Iron Sky] Dante is sure that the tracks actually originated and went back INSIDE the keep somewhere. Perhaps back towards the dining room. Yes, there are marks on the door leading that way, but none on the exterior windows or door.[/sblock]

[sblock=Luinnar, dimsdale] You see nothing amiss outside. The keep is in pretty good repair, but Max is able to find handholds and footholds in the stone to reach the top. Again there is no activity other than the two wagons out front still waiting with their horses being looked after by a curious Randall[/sblock]

"Not lizardfolk, or kobolds," Devinihm says, puzzling over the prints. "Perhaps it is the greebles, then?" He looks around for more clues, but being unused to human dwellings, has a bit of trouble telling what's out of place from what's simply part of the decor.

[sblock=GM]Perception (1d20+11=15)

Not a horrible roll, but since others have already done better, I don't imagine he's going to find anything they haven't already found.

Devinihm hasn't yet encountered a Dragon in a game. Should I roll another check to see if he knows their tracks? Would that be arcana?[/sblock]

Dante finds the group and seems to think for a moment as Virgil plods up behind him.

"This one seems to have found the creature returned to the keep. That which we hunt is still inside somewhere, in there to be precise," he says, pointing at the dining room.

Hearing Dante's report, and deciding she's getting nowhere with the house staff, Mab takes a different tack. "Well, that's alright dearies, never you mind. Auntie and her friends will get to the bottom of this. Tristram, love?," she prompts her pet rat from his repose in her pocket. "Be a dear would you, and slip on into that dining room and see if there's any greebles lurking about."

Tristram gives an obliging *Squeak!*, and scurries down out of Mab's hands, keeping close to the walls and trying to avoid notice as he wriggles under the door to the dining room.

The Earl looks on in wonder as the group come up with the results of their examinations. When Auntie Mab notes they will get to the bottom of it he smiles. Thank you so much, you truly are a multitalented group. He turns to Joy and Turner as he backs towards the walls of the kitchen. Let us leave them to their work. Move out of the way over here.

[sblock=pacdidj] I'm going to need a roll from you on Perception since 21 isn't going to make it. With that result you do see that there are two doorways leading out of the dining room though. The one you came in that leads to the foyer and one opposite the kitchen. That doorway is small and at the back of the keep but not leading outside. Through the door to the foyer you can see an old man coming slowly down the stairs[/sblock]

[sblock=jkason]The nature roll is for dragons as they are Natural creatures. I am taking your crit success to indicate that if it were a dragon, you would know even if you had never met one. However, dragons do not walk on two feet and one this size would only be a wyrmling[/sblock]

WELL THERE IS NOTHING OUTSIDE! Draglin shouts, poking his head through the window. MAYBE THERE IS SOMETHING INSIDE. he shouts again, jumping back through the window.

What is in there? he asks, wondering why the group is clustered around the dining room.

Tristram makes a cursory scan of the room, but finds it a little much for his small eyes to take in quickly. That said, he doesn't spot any signs of immediate danger, and squeezes back under the door to give his report to his mistress.

Perception (1d20+11=20)

"Oh, is that it dearie? Just an old man in the foyer is it? Hmm... well we better head in and see what's beyond those other doors, and maybe ask the poor old fellow what he's about. Could be he's the one responsible. Oh I've seen it before dearie. You know at my age not everyone is able to keep such a keen and focused intellect. Why Mr. McGuffin, the old greengrocer, just last month got so confused he thought his own lettuce heads were actually mugwumps in disguise, and destroyed his own vegetable cart trying to combat them! Of course that wouldn't explain the lizard tracks... unless this old man is a greeble in disguise."

"We'd better make sure of that dearies. We don't want to charge into a greeble ambush. They'll wrap us up in their long lingual muscles and we'll all be helplessly tongue-tied! Someone with better ears than old Auntie should listen at that door, and see if they hear any scratching or clucking. Then if the coast is clear let's go see about grandpa!"
