Crowing at his success with the adjusted spell, Pier waves his staff above his head, taunting the orc. "You'll need to bring more than a great stench to win this battle! Anstarre Kohlorum!" The air ripples, a bolt of force coalescing to strike the orc in the chest.

There is no penalty for firing into melee in 4e, and your allies do not offer the enemy cover. Just so you don't continue to penalize yourself just 'cause you're standing the back of the formation.

Weel Naxel, human artificer

"Not nice, not nice at all!" Weel chastises the orc even as he manages to dodge its near-fatal attack. The decorated branch in his hand begins buzzing, however, and the man's scowl turns into a wide grin. He spins around with the branch above his head, saying "Oh, good for you, good for you, Skitgami. Try, try again!" he calls out, stopping his odd dance on the opposite side of the orc from Vatan.

A burst of lightning flares from the implement in his hand, making its way to the ground through Kranaak's body. Small sparks continue to sputter from the orc, causing him involuntary twitches as Weel says, "Skitgami has more if you don't behave! No punch-backs!"

With the strange wolf attacking the orc, Gwendolynn slides around it's flank, and sees a golden opportunity as the creature is focused on avoiding the wolf's jaws. Her blade sinks into the orc's hamstring and Gwendolynn twists the blade as she pulls it free.

Druthruss spots something on the bombardier's body that steals his attention from the battle at hand. He steps closer, and discovers a well-made crossbow tucked under the orc's gear.

Aridha continues to circle the orc, creating an opening for Gwendolyn to score a deadly blow. The orc howls, but seems to relish in the pain as it brings its blade in hard against the wolf. It takes a step back to escape the flank, completely oblivious to the dwarven rogue standing behind him.

Pier's magics continue to assault Kranaak as Weel and Vatan surround him. While Redbeard's attack does only minimal damage, the distractions proves enough for the artificer to put his wares to work, and a wave of electricity surges through the orc warrior.

The orc was never good at taking orcers, however, and indeed gave Weel a "punchback" as it lifted its huge sword in a sweeping arc, catching both Weel and Vatan in its wake. The orc roars again as a second unexpected surge of electricity courses through its body. "You die now!" it screams, his eyes locked onto Weel's.

It not be doin' ye no good in tha end. Ye still be feedin' tha Sea Hag afore we be done!!" Vatan will bellow as he recovers his footing.

Weel Naxel, human artificer

"Well, I warned you, didn't I?" Weel says with a petulant scowl as the orc responds to the secondary shock. He circles to the south of the orc, his frown deepening as he holds his ratty magical implement forth again. A faint glowing energy bleeds out from the stick, quickly covering the man's form, and as it finshes blanketing him in arcane energies, he shouts, "Now back off!"

A loud report issues from the stick, battering the orc away from the off-kilter newcomer, who turns his attention to the other battle. "Hey, no hurting puppies!" Weel chastises. "We like puppies, especially puppies that make the nasty orcs go away. Here, puppy, have a treat!"

Weel lobs a liquid-filled pouch through the air. It bursts open on Aridha, and though the fluid inside is a frighteningly unnatural shade of green, it's almost instantly absorbed by the wolf's wounds, which begin to knit closed in response.

Noting the shifting positions of the combat, Druthruss makes a note of the crossbow but decides that the combat must be resolved first.

"Well now, if the orc insists on turning his back on a dwarf..."

takes a step to his left and heaves the axe in a wide arc...

He seems to be on target and gets a solid thud into the orc.

Confidence restored somewhat by the artificer's strange brew, Aridha snarls at the orc and bites again at his legs, tripping him and forcing him to stumble where she wants even as she mauls him!

Unfortuantely, the orc's armor, and the stiffness of her still painful wounds impedes the attack, and he fends her off.
