We do not need them- it is 'fully' compatible with the 2014 books.

I dont think so. What could they change to the enemies to make it worthwhile to gather the opinions of 500000 players?

We'll probably see a few previews in the coming months, but playtest and survey? Nha.

We SHOULD get some monsters with more and varied powers. And I don't see how that would be incompatible with the 2014 books. But I worry we won't. For certain the CR system could use some fixing.

To be honest I'd rather have insight into the underlying math and assumptions of PC capabilities used to generate monster statblocks and their capabilities at various levels of play. Some of the RAI design philosophy involved would be nice too. That kind of stuff would be far more useful than pages of statblocks we would need to guess at while teasing it out from the statblocks. It would have the added benefit of allowing constructive discussions on the content itself rather than pointless dithering over if changing the AC of an orc by n points or whatever is good or not.

Full dedicated UAs of just MM material? Probably not. At least one UA that includes MM material, probably alongside DMG material? Yes.

Didn't they show us a presentation that showed MM and DMG playtests? Not sure what exactly they will contain, but I would expect to see something

Really hope metallic/chromatic dragons get a complete redo. They're meant to be the title monster of the game, but in combat they're just a block of HP and a breath weapon.

Yes, orpbably less intended for the stat blocks and more to test the waters about a new formatting or something.
