Underdark Quest -- The Vault of Larin Karr

OOC: S8's save vs. Kerlan's Kelgore's Fire Bolt is a 9.
Kerlan's Fire Bolt slams full into the thorax of the largest spider of the bunch, which shrieks horribly and then curls up and dies. Tylara engages the second largest brute with her sword with a fair amount of success. Manny and Relos rush to her aid and strike down the vile arachnid with tooth and icepick!

Francheska and the last living spider [S7] are staring each other down across five feet of corridor. The spider, with multiple eyes clearly has the advantage, but Fran is up! Go Frannie!

"I hate spiders!" Fancheska swings her sword at the remaining spider. With the effects of the Haste spell, she gets in two swings. The two swings nick the spider for small damage.

Kerlan, bolstered by the fact that only a single Spider remains, casts another spell in an attempt to end this battle.

OOC: Kerlan casts Whelm. 3d6 Nonlethal damage, DC 16 Will save negates.

The last remaining spider fails its save, falls, and is still, but his legs do not curl up like the others did in death. [OOC: OK, so maybe my calcs were off by 1 hp, so sue me!]

Tylara cleans her blade and puts it away. She still looks pale and weak from the poison of the spider bite.

After the final spider falls, Kerlan finally relaxes. He scans their surroundings though, just in case others are waiting in hiding. "It's only unconscious. We'll need to finish it off."
