So in combat you must post your actions within 48-72 hours of the players turn coming up. Unless stated by a character that their actions are to follow another character, they will be resolved in posted order. After that time, if there was no communication with the DM, I will NPC the MIA player and move on.

* Dice rollers can be Invisible Castle or the EnWorld on-line dice roller for the players. The DM will use his own purple dice at home or an on-line random number generator.

* Any absences for longer than 2-3 days should be communicated to the DM. If you do not post for a week or more without having informed the DM, he reserves the right to remove you from the adventure giving you your share of the XP and treasure earned as well as time XP and gp to the date of your last post

* If your character gets enough XP to level they may do so immediately. This grants the extra hp, but does not heal damage, and grants any additional spell slots, but not spells prepared. A caster capable of spontaneously casting could use these slots normally, a cleric could only use them for cure or inflict spells, a druid for summon nature's ally, etc. Prepared casters may prepare spells in these slots as if they had left the slots blank for the day, if they are able to do so. They can go through the appropriate spell preparation as if they had already rested if applicable.

* All characters need an appropriate character picture, head-shot preferably, for token on the tactical grids.

* A mini-stat spoiler block that includes a link to your character sheet will be required in every Combat IC post.[/sblock]

The two women, the half-elf, and the mythical centaur turn the corner and leave the Dunn Wright Inn behind. The city has a feel or turmoil and chaos, with screams of terror in the distance.

"Well this is ominous, the city seems to be in some serious turmoil. I guess alot more undead than I at first anticipated got loose." Veniarus says through gritted teeth. He is visibly nervous at the thought of all these undead, though Kalius seems to be enjoying himself at the thought of facing down hordes of the walking dead.

Cythera pauses at an intersection, looking in both directions. She takes a moment to cast a minor cantrip increasing her resistance.

"No sense in running towards danger without being prepared. I think we can head in either direction, that way to the left or in that direction to the right."

"There are at least two ancient crypts that I know about in those directions, so maybe the undead are coming from there."

The dragon disciple remains vigilant to danger, on the lookout for signs of undead terrorizing the public.

Ariel Esimae, Female Aasimar Cleric (NPC)

While Cythera pauses, Ariel agrees with being prepared.

"Let me add Helina's guidance to myself and everyone else as well."

Recalling what she knows about the religious lore of Venza, she says, "I know not which direction is more promising of those crypts."

The aasimar girl looks around, trying to be mindful of sounds of a fracas or innocents being hurt.

Veniarus frowns as he also tries to determine which way might be the best to pursue. Though in his case he tries to determine it from the point of view of someone practiced in the magical arts.

Kalius for his part also attempts to aid in determining where the undead may be.

Veniarus and Kalius are unaware of whatever the two women have seen, but judging by their reactions there is something visible off to the left in the sky. Moving in that direction, you see a winged skeleton in the sky with a skeleton rider holding a shield and a lance a few hundred yards away above the single story buildings and shanties of a slum district. For some infernal reason, the creature can still fly, despite the wings being only bones.

The flying mount is a four legged beast with claws on the front legs and hooves on the rear. The head is bird-like with a beak.

[/sblock]You see the mounted skeletal knight swoop down and impale some fleeing street kid on the end of its lance and return to the air several feet up.

Cythera e'Kiernan, Bronze Dragon Disciple

Cythera starts running in that direction, not sure how she is going to dance with a flying creature. Resigned to being land-born yet, she puts away the glaive as she charges down the street and draws out her longbow.

"I have some blunt arrows that will be effective against skeletons, but the range is pretty great. That poor victim is done for, though. We cannot hope to rescue him from his impalement and bringing the creature down will likely ensure he is dead from the fall too."

The point become moot as the tiny body falls from the lance from a height of at least 10-15 yards to smack sickeningly down on the cobblestone street.

"Well that could be problematic." Veniarus says then dismisses Kalius from the field of battle so that he is able to summon another more useful creature in a moment or two.

Ariel Esimae, Female Aasimar Cleric (NPC)

Ariel moves after Cythera as fast as she can, but her gear is slowing her down. Seeing the dead child discarded like unwanted trash, she utters a curse that is definitely unladylike and would have earned her penance in the temple.

She pauses and declares, "That is an understatement, Veniarus. But, by Helina, that thing shall NOT kill anymore!"

The aasimar girl reaches into her pouch for some bat guano and sulfur. Grasping them in hand she points her finger at the creature. A glowing, pea-sized bead streaks outwards and can barely be seen as it unerringly soars at the flying skeletal knight. Suddenly it blossoms into a searing explosion of flame that detonates with a low roar!

The bones of the skeletal mount are scattered in multiple directions as the skeleton knight crashes down to effectively shatter on the cobblestone street.

[sblock=GM Notes]This was really just an excuse to use up Ariel's Fireball so it would not be available for later. :angel: No XP for this scene.
