More pimpin' for the D100 Ashtray game

1 - no, you don't need a "golfball" to play d100 - 2d10 read as tens and ones is what I designed it for...
2 - There's lots of materials to go with the game, but even so I'm expecting the game to get rolling after only 5-7 minutes total of briefing. The weapons cards, I must say, impress me the most - damn, I'm good sometimes...
3 - Mission Briefing
Investigative Consultant Mission Briefing
MISSION TYPE: Extreme Fumigation / Retrieval of Unknown Artifact
Travel to New Dijon, Quebec, Canada, and recover an artifact from unknown entities (Shadow‐Blue to Delta Green class entities most probable), before an Enigma‐class mortal can retrieve it.
LOCATION: New Dijon Graveyard.
BACKGROUND
The city of New Dijon lies in the Quebec province of Canada, and was, for the most part, a typical town until 1 year ago. It was home to only a few thousand, most of which didn't survive "Hell Night", an event which occurred late in 2007. We've received a very personal account from our client, apparently a collaborator in the event, that the following events actually occurred: The city's dead rose as one, and an army of dead bodies marched on the city. The police reacted as quickly as possible, and ended up calling for military backup. Due to the extreme nature of the request, they got it. The military moved in, and with apparently unknown assistance, was able to battle the force back to the graveyard from which it had originated. After the graveyard was wiped clean, the attacks were ended. The following was taped during an interview with our client, regarding the disturbance: "Yes, I was there that day, in New Dijon. I was following the one we knew as Oracle, and we received signs while on the interstate that something was gone wrong from the Messengers. We pulled into the city, where rots (P.L.E.‐possessed bodies) were destroying the city en masse. When we reached the graveyard, the destruction was unthinkable... there was a giant storm, throwing thousands of spirits into the air, and a hole in the sky that seemed as if it had torn open into Hell itself. With the aid of the man Traveler, Oracle was able to shut the hole. In the aftermath, I believed I spied the source of the outbreak... a single, small object, which despite my ability to view, was beyond my grasp." "Recently, the one known as Oracle has gone renegade to our cause, and is traveling with all speed towards New Dijon... I believe she seeks the item from the graveyard, for untold evil purposes. She must be stopped, and the artifact recovered." Our data shows the graveyard to be two miles within the town, which has only recently begun recovering from the event. Many people were institutionalized following the deployment of the Canadian Forces, and the events surrounding what our client called a "Hellstorm". Some of them were eyewitness to the events, and may still be sane enough to back up his accounts.

MISSION PARAMETERS
The primary objective of this mission is to reclaim the spiritual object at the centre of the graveyard, and return it to HQ. Our contact on this mission says it resembles a small ash‐tray. All other things aside, this needs to be recollected. It is possible that some shadow‐class entities may also linger in the graveyard following the New Dijon "Hellstorm" incident, and as usual, they are to be fumigated if they stand in the way of the object. The woman known as Oracle, according to our client, will be able to see even unmanifested spirits, and employ destructive powers of an unknown nature against them. Though she appears as a normal woman, most marked by her long white hair and a wild look in her face, it is possible that she may be a Jason, or employing some other unknown power to use against both in‐the‐meat agents and ghosts. She is to be considered extremely hostile, and to be terminated if encountered. Oracle: Enigma‐Class Red. Another first on this mission is our client has demanded to assist us. He claims to have the same powers to view the undead as Oracle, and for us to refer to him as "God45". He will be in New Dijon by our arrival, and trying to deal with any defenses the graveyard has from what he describes as "a meat perspective". God45: Enigma‐Class Green. Time is of the essence. Get on the plane.

INTELLIGENCE
The Orpheus Group has had no previous experience in New Dijon, due to the hesitancy of the Canadian government to legalise projection technology. What we know of Oracle, we have heard from God45. You're truly on your own on this one. Be careful, and stick together.

{bonus points to the extra, extra trivial who get even one of these White Wolf references (in-jokes might be more accurate) correctly. Even though there are some WW WoD ideas in this game, it's NOT WW WoD.}

5 - One of the things I love about the core system - everything's a percentile, so recalculations and re-designs of characters are easy enough to do on the fly while maintaining a "balanced" curve. If It's just me and 2 people at the table, the people will be playing the entire Red and Blue teams as characters rather than just being PCs from the Red Team (3-5 players). Just a matter of averaging and re-distributing feats... Same with scaling challenges...

Oh, yeah - *bump*

Heya! Due to some certain considerations on the part of the driver (me), Mark and I will only be able to attend the morning session of gaming. That said, if you could put me down for the 'Freakshow' game, I'd be happy ^^ It sounds interesting.

A little clarification of FreakShow.

This is not some mamby pamby eat some s'mores over a cook fire telling ghost stories kinda night.

Be prepared to fight for your little freak lives.

What is a freak, you ask?

Psions and Psychic warriors are freaks. Anybody that can look at you funny, then your head blows up, is a freak.

Dwarf bards and warmages are freaks. What on earth is a Dwarf doing singing little ditties and/or blasting people when he could be bashing em, old school.

Half-Elves are freaks. I don't think I have to explain this one.

Half-Orc Clerics are freaks. "uhhh me aarrghhgggh you wanna convert? No. Ok. I hit you on your bean." (kinda like human Cuthbertians)

Halfling Barbarians are freaks. Half Pint Dynamite

Heh, that's why I'm so intrigued ^^ I rarely get the chance to play such an 'odd' class and race combination. I'm looking forward to it ^^

Hey Just Wondering???

I know in both games that I am registered for, there are 3 people including me. I have been thinking, what happens, if we don't have enough players? I am coming from very far away (about 70 plus miles), and I would just hate to see games cancelled due to lack of interest after I get there. Just curious.

Thanks,
Chris

Looks like Freakshow for me, too! I can't wait! :)

Hey, it looks like I have to work on Saturday... which blows goats, but I need the money.

So, unless they cancel at the last minute... *sigh* I won't be making it to either game.

Dammit.

Sorry for the late bail, my bosses are jerks.

Don't worry. I still plan on running Grindhouse. I'll actually sign up for the 4e demo in the afternoon. I would like to get an 'official' taste of 4e.
