Recommend Some Anime

Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online are both ones I enjoy. And for movies, it’s impossible to go wrong with Studio Ghibli’s work. Their recent efforts have been understated, subtle, and entirely beautiful.

You didn't mention any parameters besides release date, so here are a few great series anyone might enjoy - well, anyone who posts here, at least.

Chaika the Coffin Princess
The Devil is a Part-Timer
Gakkou Gurashi
Madoka Magica
Psycho-Pass

I know Hestia is very popular, but I believe technically speaking her series isn't actually named after her.

True, but the name of the series eluded me at the time. I believe it's something to the tune of "picking up girls in a dungeon?"

Another I hadn't mentioned, which may be appealing due to the fantasy genre, is Yona of the Dawn. Has a real Fushigi Yuugi vibe to it, though not executed quite as well as the original.
