These are the “final 44” great adventures for Dungeons and Dragons (in its various forms): pick the ones you think are all time greats!

These are culled from the hundreds that have been released over the last 30 years.

Based on these nomination threads:
OD&D and B/ED&D
1st ed AD&D
2nd ed AD&D
3.0/3.5/D20 D&D

And these 1st round polls:
OD&D and B/ED&D
1st ed AD&D
2nd ed AD&D
3.0/3.5/D20 D&D

This list consists of the top ten for each “era”, plus 4 wild cards: these where all 1st ed adventures that where relatively more popular than adventures of a similar rank for other eras (and this helped resolve a tie for 9th and 10th place on the 1st ed poll). Most two or more letter abbreviations refer to the publisher. Modules with no code, or a code with a letter and number, where produced by TSR or, in a few cases, WotC for 2nd ed AD&D

Lets us know which you think are the classics of today and tomorrow!

Voted my usual on these: Tomb, Plume, Ravenloft, Descent series, etc. Added a vote for other, as I was always proud of my homebrews, though in retrospect, they're nothing special.

My all time favorite adventure is from Dungeon, Tears for Twilight Hollow. I rarely used to run adventures, prefering the challenge of developing my own plots and creatures. This story however was engaging, well planned, with good boxed text and plenty of room for embellishment and additions. I was thoroughly impressed and since then I have used a few adventures, though mostly from Dungeon.

I voted for the usual suspects (B2, G1-2-3, S4, Tegel Manor, etc.) above, plus I'll throw in write-in votes for The Abduction of Good King Despot (which I already raved about on one of the other threads) and Gygax's Necropolis (though I've only read/played this in its original Mythus version, which may well work better than the d20 conversion...).

WE should not overlook the classic Judges Guild mega-adventure The Dark TOwer. Twin towers buried beneath a rather sinister village with a war still being fought between the factions after centuries.

Dark Tower, Necropolis, and Red Arrow Black Shield where all in the first round poles, but didn't quite make the top 10.
