No critical, but enough to kill the grimlock spellcaster anyway.

[EDITED: mistake deleted.]

The goblin swings his morningstar again, but doesn't get anywhere near Phoenix. (Attack: 5.)

Rowan, however, lands the perfect blow right on the grimlock's head. (Natural 20, critical confirmed, 22 HP damage.) Splat! goes the monster!

[EDITED: continue next post.]

Note: if you read my previous post before the edits, you might be slightly more optimistic about this fight than would be warranted. Not that it isn't going your way; just that it's a little farther from finished than I previously indicated.

The demon continues to attack Rowan: claw 16, claw 5, bite 14. In his rage the barbarian is so focused on offense that he lowers his guard, with the result that the demon's left claw scrapes him for 4 HP damage.

The hellhound tries once again to bite Lookspring, but the Katara is too small and nimble a target. (Attack: 11).

It is Lookspring's turn, with only the goblin and the two summoned creatures left.

Lookspring 20
Phoenix 8
gob3 8
Rowan 7
hideous 7
dog 7

Rowan has no desire to fight the summoned demon. He will 'withdraw' to move around behind the goblin spellcaster, cutting off its escape. He'll try to stay out of the range of its weapon for now.

Phoenix fails to land a solid blow on the goblin; the little one, however, has no more success (attack: 13) against her.

Rowan slips around past Phoenix, evidently preparing to fight the goblin. With the barbarian moving too fast to keep up, the first conjured turns its attention to Phoenix, clawing her for 4 HP damage. (Attack 23, damage 4, the need to move toward her preventing it from using more than one claw this round.)

The hellhound, meanwhile, remains preoccupied with Lookspring, its flaming breath engulfing the Katara.

Lookspring takes 10 HP fire damage if he fails a DC 13 Reflex save, 5 HP if he makes the save. Then it is his turn to act.

Lookspring's arrows both pierce the hellhound, although not fatally.

Initiatives:
Phoenix 8
gob3 8
Rowan 7
demon 7
hellhound 7
Lookspring 20
