The Atlantis team finds a group of what seems to be non-ascended Ancients in a base much like Atlantis, except this one is the center of a big city. These guys know all about their tech, and even know how to make ZPMs. The main team, plus dr Weir, heads on over to try to make a trade agreement, but the leader of the Asuras (as they call themselves) doesn't seem too interested. As the team are preparing to leave, they are tossed into a prison cell where they are mindprobed by the Asuras, which reveals that they are human-form replicator or something similar. This mindprobing reveals the location of Atlantis, as well as the gate sequence to Earth.PatrickLawinger said:
The Asuran city-ship disconnects from the rest of the base, and fly toward Atlantis intending to destroy it and claim the only gate that leads back to Earth. They talk to one of the Asuras who seems friendly, and who wants to ascend rather than attack Atlantis, but he believes it's the violent programming inserted into them by the Ancients that is holding them back. He offers to allow McKay to purge the violent parts of their programming, which he believes would allow him to ascend and prevent the others from attacking Atlantis.
McKay succeeds in the reprogramming, but takes advantage of it by inserting a "freeze" sequence. This allows the Atlantis team to blow up the base and flee, together with the friendly Asuran. As they are leaving in a puddlejumper, the friendly Asuran gets reset, and attacks the team. They force him into the jumper's rear compartment and blow the doors open, tossing him into space. As they return to Atlantis, we see the Asuran still in space, seemingly "alive", as the others discuss that most likely, the Asurans will build a new city-ship soon, and come back for them.
