D&D 4E What levels have you played at in 4E?

Would that DMing for a group at that level or playing as a player at that level? Either one? One or the other?

I haven't played on the player's end yet. I have DMed levels 1-7 and now 11, as I just bumped my players up 4 levels (with an in-game reason for them reaching paragon - think Final Fantasy I class change quest).

In a month or so, I'll probably get to play my first level 1 character!

It may just be me, but I count DMing as playing the game. The controlling characters and rolling dice aspects makes a DM different than a simple referee.

Unless for some reason you are only acting as a official rules interpreter and someone else is playing the NPCs....

Well for purpose of the poll I do think the distinction was necessary.

When you come down to breaking it down to level, I find that it's easier to think about what level you've played as a player than DMing. DMing seems very similar through the levels while playing can be quite a different experience. Just my opinion though.

I don't see it as being a "different" experience, but rather a "broader" one. Participating in an 8th level game will give you an idea of how an 8th level game can play out no matter what side of the screen you are on. But I wasn't quite looking for experiences of the game so much as usage of the game, as experiences with the game can vary wildly even at the same level.
