Monk=Striker? I'm disapointed

I finally had the chance to skim the latest playtest article with the monk. I'm kind of disapointed. I was really hoping that the monk would be a leader. I guess I was hoping it would be:

Psion = Controller
Psychic Warrior = Defender
Monk = Leader
Soul Knife = Striker

Striker is thematically closer to the 3X monk. But I was hoping for the leader role so that soul knife would be open as a good choice for the striker. Honestly it's mainly because I've been hoping for a soul knife striker. I guess they could have two strikers, but the odds of that are a bit slim.

I just hope eventually they change the rules around unarmed combat so that disarming can be a viable option mechanic wise.

Maybe possibly (im dreaming)ly they will work this out when they release the monk in its entirety.

I'm thinking they'll combine Soulknife and Psychic Warrior into one Psionic Defender, a la arcane's swordmage. Besides striker, it's the next best fit for Soulknife.

How? By punching your wounds to death on an abstract level?

The ability of monks to focus their chi into healing powers is something I'm sure I've seen in a few video games. Healing is not out of the question, although the general theme of leadership seems weird for a monk.

funny. But no less abstract than a warlord healing you by yelling at you. =)

I admit the striker is a better fit based on the monk as we've come to know him. Doesn't mean I can't still hope.

They already made the melee arcane guy a defender though. Cirtain sorcerer builds come close, but I'm still hoping for a flashy arcane/psionic melee striker.
