Synopsis of Round 2

As the 'forged to his right moves, Grryth takes a weak swing at him as the 'forged passes by and gets behind him.

When the two 'forged swing at him Grryth spots an opportunity and decides to take advantage of it. Grryth stares at the Master Thief and locks his gaze on his foe looking for a soft spot to sink his axe into. He then takes a quick step to his right and using the momentum of his movement Grryth spins his body in a complete circle, extending his axe out and striking at each of the 'forged that surround him, coming to a stop facing the different looking 'forged (master thief). The 'forged who moved behind him was saved from a gruesome end as he rolls beneath the small hurricane of steel, but his friends aren't nearly as lucky. The 'forged with the tinted-glass eyes (master thief) takes a swinging axe to the chest, a large gash opening up so that cords of sinew and other mechanical parts can be seen beneath it. Once again, the thief on the table is hit, this time in one of it's legs and it twitches, nearly falling under his own weight.

Pointing his main axe in the direction of his quarry while keeping the other up defensively towards the others Grryth gives a pedatory grin. "Come on ya talkin garbage cans, is that all ya got fer me"

"Ha ha! Nice move, that!" Gurdan bellows appreciatively to Grryth. The (successful) attack from his enemy barely registers as he shouts "Let's see what I've got in my bag of tricks..."

Gurdan swings his warhammer in a wide circle, and the area all around him becomes craggly as the very earth sends a miniature quake up from the ground, rising earth smashing into his thiefly opponent and shattering the table into hundreds of pieces. Both Gurdan and the thief are knocked to the ground, but Gurdan is quicker to stand, ready to fight some more!

Lord Jarot points his rod, once more, at the Salesman and summons forth a gout of witchfire. Unfortunatly, the Salesman continues to prove the swifter of the two and the fire fizzles in mid-air after missing it's mark.

Garrick quickly places his curse upon the forged to his left, a blue-green flame encasing the warforged and creating a deadly conduit between it and it's creator. Garrick strikes with uncanny precision, taking a good part of the warforged's torso with his weapon. The warforged spasms as the conduit of arcane energy courses through him, blackening his already dark armor. Suddenly the arcane energy explodes out of the warforged's chest and it is flung backwards, landing atop one of his deconstructed allies near the window. Garrick moves to follow his foe, aiming for the kill!

Lo-Kag, surrounded by foes works to cut off the advantage postition of his enemies by thrusting his sword to the weaker of the two foes that currently flank him.

He almost drops his sword as some remaining batter seeps into the hilt, making his grip on the sword slick. Lo-Kag screams in angish. "Come on Lo-Kag...you've fought better in worse battles!"

With that, he regains his grip and tries again, this time with a sweeping swing towards his enemies head. The Salesman takes the hit directly in the abdomen in a failed attempt to flip over backwards out of reach of the head-shot. Lo-Kag's blade buries itself in the Salesman's lower torso.

Lo-Kag screams "How does it feel to have a foot of steel in your gut thug!"

Gurdan also feels bizarrely replenished as he attacks the warforged. Looking up, he notices Alexia smiling oddly at him as a dark necromantic smoke flows from the warforged's new wound and spirals around Gurdan, motes of dark energy randomly solidifying as it swirls around the dwarf.

Alexia then attempts to drive home a powerful blow of her own, but the sudden collapse of the table upsets her aim and she swings where her foe was a moment before. Cursing slightly, she rapidly strikes again in an attempt to pry even more armor from her foe. Last second instructions from the battle-knowledgeable Lo-Kag allows Alexia's blade to find purchase in an organ exposed by her previous attack. As Alexia rips her blade to the side, the warforged crashes to the ground, never to move again, and she moves away from her rear attacker.

"We can do this! Just keep them away from the-!" she suddenly cuts herself off, not wanting to reveal the location of the gem. However, her eyes nervously and visibly flicker over to the stove in a subtle yet undeniably effective bluff.

[sblock=Stupid IC] Man... if IC doesn't kick in and do somethin' fer me, you guys are gonna get away from this battle practically uninjured. You guys are doing GREAT!

Also... Lo-Kag... that action point thing is GROSS!! I do not envy the bad-guys that have to face Grryth's action pointed daily power *shudders* +7 damage per attack... sheesh!

Nice job on demolishing Thief 5, team, he didn't stand a chance!

Gurdan... +8... really!? *checks out his sheet, which needs some massive updating according to the judges* Wow... yep, +8 to AC and +4 to everything else. *mouth drops to the ground* That puts you at AC 30!!! Now, probably a waste, but imagine this: Minor Action: Second Wind, Standard Action: Full Defense; Action Point: Attack. That would put you at a disgusting 32 AC (unfortunately the defensive weapon property doesn't stack with itself because it's an item bonus, or you'd have a 34 AC). So it would be like getting a +10 AC and +6 to all other defenses. I don't know that anything could even touch you without critting at this level, lol. [/sblock]

Round 3!

Seeing his companions getting obliterated, the salesman screams out in frustration!

"Kill them! Kill Them! We MUST find the gem!" Pointing at the warforged behind Lo-Kag he shouts out instructions. "Get over to that stove and get the gem! Move now!" Salesman punctuates his command by throwing another accelerator pod onto the other warforged who practically teleports to the other side of the room, moving so fast that both Lord Jarot and Gurdan miss with their opportunistic weapon swipes.

While the blur distracts Lo-Kag, the Salesman pulls the dragonborn's blade from his stomach and returns the favor, sticking Lo-Kag in the side with his deadly shortsword as he circles around him.

At the same time, the Master thief and Garrick's target, who both are fully against Grryth, try to team up with Alexia's attacker to try and take the shifter down in a flurry of attacks. Alexia's sword flashes out at her attacker, fully skewering her enemy. The longsword can be seen dripping oil from it's tip as it protrudes from the back of the warforged before she rips her blade sidways, causing the warforged to lean the other way, practically splitting him in half. She wipes her dirtied blade on his cloak as he slowly spins around before falling to the ground. She turns to the rest of her foes, her eyes flashing red for only a moment before returning to their normal color.

Although not in the most optimal places, the flurry of distractions around Grryth allow the Master Thief and Grryths' other mark to land a couple of minor hits, though it is nothing that will slow down the shifter more than a second or two. A single drop of blood seeps out from Grryth's armor and lands on the floor with a quiet plop.

[sblock=side note for anyone who can figure it out for me...] Why in the world am I constantly getting double sblocks!? Almost every post I'm putting an sblock into that has a significant amount of info is getting one sblock that cuts off after a few words, then another with the rest of my info... what am I doing wrong? [/sblock]

Why in the world am I constantly getting double sblocks!? Almost every post I'm putting an sblock into that has a significant amount of info is getting one sblock that cuts off after a few words, then another with the rest of my info... what am I doing wrong?

I don't know why it happens, but I know how to fix it. When writing a post, in the upper right hand corner of the "Message:" box there's a button which toggles between normal and editor mode. If you click that button twice (once to switch to editor mode, once to switch back) then the hidden sblock code will appear.[/sblock]

Lo-Kag grunts as the salesman's sword strikes true. Bloodied, but not beaten, Lo-Kag looks the salesman in the eye and states "well...it looks like it's me vs you. It will take a lot more than that to bring me down." With that, Lo-Kag shifts to the east as to get a bird's eye view of the rest of the combat going on and to prevent the other thief from attacking from behind him. He thrusts his sword towards the salesman's midsection.

[sblock=action]
movement: move to e19
minor: inspiring word on myself: 12 for healing surge plus 1d6+3=4 for a total of 16 hp.

oops, I should have attacked first...that would have given me a +11 to hit, oh well...live and learn.
attack: basic attack against the salesman: 1d20+11=26 (whoops...it should have been 1d20+10) so that would be a 25 vs AC to hit... for 1d8+6=8 points damage and the use of the power of the sacreficial longsword: I spend another healing surge, not for healing but to weaken the salesman to the end of my next turn.
[/sblock]

Lo-Kag trades another blow with the salesman, this time the weapon glows as it hits the salesman, who now looks visiblely weakend.

"Yessssss..." Lo-Kag states in dragonborn native tongue as he does from time to time in the heat of battle. He then turns to the warlock "Let's finish him friend!"
