[D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

Aridha shields her face and body with her arms as magic force buffets her. It hits with the intensity of a club, but she manages to hold her ground. "A magical duel then, is it?"

She reached up towards the sky and clenched a fist, then yanked it down. There was a deep rumbling from the heavens, and a bolt of lightning speared down from clear skies directly at the goblin spellcaster! A threatening rumble remained around him as well, and a telltale fizzling arc of energy around him that warned more was to come. (Storm Spike! 16 vs Reflex to hit, for 9 lightning damage. If he doesn't move 2 spaces or more on his turn, he will take an additional 4 damage.) Roll Lookup

Aridha didn't give him much time to think about that though, as she assumed the shape of a great jungle panther and loped across the deck directly at the goblin! (Wildshape as minor action, then move to L9.)

The great cat then reared up and slashed at the staff wielding goblin as she got to him! (AP for additional standard action, Savage Rending! 19 vs Reflex to hit, for 8 damage! Normally I can slide him 1 too, but in this case I waive that if possible. Don't want to make it too easy to avoid the lightning now. :) Roll Lookup )

[sblock=renau1g]Actually, all of your attacks hit. Well, all except the last one, because C1 will be down for the count after the first hit. What a wimp, eh?

You need to focus your standard action on a different target, or save the action point for later (of course, that may alter the outcome of your Passing Attack because you'll lose the +3 bonus).

There now, don't you feel bad for cursing all those gods?[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]
Err... yes, yes I do. Please change the last target from C1 to the W, I'll push 1 and shift into its current square[/sblock]

Noticing that the smaller gobbos have hit the deck, Vatan moves over to beside the sleeping gobbo (N9) and strikes down with his sword, then slides over to the rail (N8) swinging his handaxe on the backhand towards the staff wielding gobbo. (Passing attack) "Turn and face your doom, ya scurvy lump o' squid dung!!" (Combat challenge)

IG - I am not too sure if I calculated these attacks and damage properly. For the damage on both attacks, I added 1 pt for using two weapons (Two-Weapon Fighting). For the secondary attack I added 2 to the weapon attack bonus because of the +2 given by Passing Attack. Please let me know and make any necessary adjustments required if I am wrong here. Thanks.

As the goblins board, Sahyr grins widely, baring his enlarged canine teeth as he draws his blade to engage them.

[sblock=OOC]
I rolled up an initiative of 16, but then looked through here and noticed it seemed you already rolled an initiative number for me. Sahyr has no modifier to speak of for it, I'll roll with either.[/sblock]

Seeing the battle rage, Sahyr growled as he readied to engage a foe and spill there blood, giving sacrifice to the Brawler as things went on. As he felt an invisible force push against him, he stood strong and howled in rage as he realized that magical tricks were being employed against him. He threw himself into combat, striking savagely in his wrath as his joy at combat fought with his rage of the trick.

"Come then! Your blood will be my sacrifice to Kord!"

[sblock=Map/status stuff + actions]
The next portion is assuming that he can engage the caster without drawing any opportunity attacks, as I'm unsure whether the name is our 'token' or if the images are goblins. I also am getting confused trying to figure out what everyone's HP is, as if Aridha was at -7 HP she'd be unconscious, so I guess it was -7 from her 26 giving her 19 HP?

Move: Move to L8(Or M8) so as to be in range to strike H
Standard: Righteous Brand on H
Minor: Healing Word on whoever is wounded enough to need it, his healing word heals 1d6+4+Healing surge(So, 5-10+ their surge value) I can't tell if anyone does need it.

If I would provoke an OA for moving:
Standard: Righteous Brand on the nearest goblin that I'd provoke the OA from
Minor: Minor: Healing Word on whoever is wounded enough to need it, his healing word heals 1d6+4+Healing surge(So, 5-10+ their surge value) I can't tell if anyone does need it.

Righteous Brand roll: 1d20+7=17, 1d12+4=9 Sahyr grants a +4 to hit bonus to the person nearest his target for now

Apologies for the huge sblock and confusion, I'm just a bit lost playing catchup.[/sblock]

[sblock=This should have gone in the OOC thread]Every character, PCs and NPCs alike, have a token with their identifier (PC names, in your case) underneath it. If one token is sitting north of another, it is a strong likelihood that the northern characters identifier, or name, will appear on top of the southern character. In any case, it shouldn't be too difficult to tell who's who as long as you know that everyone on the map has both a token and an identifier.

I will try to roll all initiative. I realize that I asked for it this time, but since you weren't around to do it, I did it for you. Please use the result I rolled for you for this combat.

I will always write hit points as -7/26, meaning that Aridha is minus 7 of 26 hit points. When she is -26/26 it is time to get concerned.

To all: I'm terribly sorry for the delay. I'd like to tell you that I haven't had time, but the simple truth is that I've been wrapped up in this month's Cartographers' Guild challenge and haven't really felt like doing much else. I promise I'm not bailing on you guys--though you might want to bump the thread in a few days if I haven't updated by then. You know how it goes, old age and all that.

Jude fells the first goblin, then knocks the other back towards the railing.

Druthruss takes cover to tend to his wounds.

Aridha calls a bolt of lightning onto the hobgoblin spellcaster.

Vatan whirls past the sleeping goblin and strikes it hard as he continues on toward the spellcaster, his handaxe only barely missing its mark.

Sahyr moves toward the spellcaster and opens an impressive gash across its chest. The shifter roars to Kord as the thing howls in pain, and Kord answers with a regenerative blessing upon Druthruss (heals 14 damage).

(OOC - IG, I think you only read 1/2 my post. Aridha shots lightning -and- wildshaped, moved, and attacked via AP. At the very least, even if the attack missed, she still moved over there. :))

[sblock=OOC]See, that's where you're wrong. I read every last word of it, but I only remembered half of it. ;)

I'll fix it in the update. He's still alive and unbloodied, but the attack does hit and damage him.[/sblock]

Slightly confused. Sahyr only gave Druthuss 4 HP? Sahyr's healing word grants a Surge+1d6+4(Wis Modifier). Unless I'm missing something important in there, which is entirely possible as I'm not entirely certain I'm caught up, and am a bit new to 4E still. [/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Should be 10 hp regained (6 for the surge plus 4 from 1d6). Unless you have an ability that I missed, which is entirely probable, you don't add your wisdom modifier to this power. At least the way I read it. Anyone else have two cents to offer?[/sblock]
