To start, I am new, but have been lurking for quite a while. This site has been a valuable source of ideas, information, and has helped me as I recently began DMing. That said, I am in a bind, and would like some help. This is based on core book information, so going to the homebrew section doesn't seem to be the right move. I am aware that for whatever reason threads can't be moved right now, so I am hoping my judgment was correct in posting this here.
Thing is, my players are very into flavor, and ask a lot of questions, leaving very little for granted. It's not enough to take a mission, they want to know the first and last name of their employer, they want to know the route the took to get there, they want to know if the buildings are brick or stone, yadda yadda.... I appreciate their enthusiasm, but it can be exhausting. Something they've asked a lot about is "What do so-and-so usually use?" By this I mean, what races and monsters usually are known to equip themselves with.
Now, I know some already. Dwarves of course use axes and hammers typically, Gnomes favor the warpick, Eladrin love longswords(and spears as well, going by their soldier feat), Eberron has the Talenta weapons for halflings and drow have their own "tribal" arms. Hobgoblins I'm told use flails and swords, and I recall orcs invented the Double Axe. Humans, obviously, use a variety of weapons.
Are there any I am leaving out? I think kobold and lizardfolk employ spears and javelins with frequency, but I am unsure. Usually, I'd just make this stuff up for my campaign, but I've been going "core" with these things, just because I am getting the hang of DMing with what comes out of the books themselves before I take to making things up for myself. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
