Gets even better tonight with the women's qualifiers, quarters . . . on the Snowboard Cross. Hoping to get the qualifiers after about 6pm UK and the final stages should be on from about 8-ish UK. probably have to use BBC Interactive to get the qualifiers but the rest should be main channels.

Then I can start looking forward to the Snowboard Pipe.

I'm curious if it'll be on or not....the men's ski event was postponed due to weather, and the women's got pushed back as well. It might be a lot later than 8 UK time....

The men's is being pushed to a different day I believe.

Finals kick off in next 10 minutes. They're giving it the warm up music right now. The course is harsh and loads fell over in qualifying. Gotta be good. Not to mention that US kid who lost out last time round - go her!

I'm watching curling on CNBC right now. The fun is in the absurdity of the brushers moving along with the stone, going like mad to do whatever it is they do to the ice as the stone approaches the target.

Go Canada!

I think that they rubbing of the ice melts a small a little. This allows the stone to glide partly upon a layer of water. This way they can control both the speed and direction of the stone a little.

I believe it's mostly just to get little bits of stuff out of the way of the rock. You'd be amazed how much difference one little bit of debris will change the course of a rock.
