Turning fiend? Questions.

So, my group was adventuring, and I happened upon the heart of a demon (main part of our arc). I think our DM wanted us to destroy it, I picked it up, and it absorbed into my character. He didn't expect any of us to do that, and tasked me with finding out stuff about turning. I'm a lawfull good monk, and I've check the book of vile darkness, and it doesn't explain much. Any ideas? I'm hoping to come up with a reason why I could still be lawful, and at least not evil so I can continue with my group (stupid good cleric and such).

Was kinda thinking, since monks have such control over their bodies and minds, maybe I could hold off everything but the physical take over.

Hm. I don't know of any rules for this situation, but evil Grafts force will saves to prevent the user from changing alignments, so I guess you might have to make will saves to prevent turning chaotic and/or evil?

Good point, you can also use possession rules may be.
 

Alternatively, the Ego rules for magic weapons. Just have the DM come up with an Ego score for the demon heart, and make him have to RP your character being evil / chaotic.

BoVD and Heroes of Horror have possession rules. Fiend Folio has rules for grafts (and maybe Lords of Madness too?). Those are the best leads I can think of for you.
