Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Society Gencon Special: WOW

The Year of the Shadow Lodge, the Gencon Special event run for Pathfinder Society Special is scheduled for next Friday, August 6, 2010 in the 7:00 p.m. to midnight slot.

The module itself was released to PF Society GMs who are running the event at Gencon last night.

All reading it, all I can say is this: WOW. If you aren't signed up for this and you have any interest in Pathfinder - you are missing out. Run, don't walk - and sign up for this when you get your Gencon badge. If you are relying on Generics for this event, my best guess is that you are likely to be disappointed on Friday night.

Awesome! Wish I was going this year and could play a ton of PFS games... I am sure it will be a great time for all that attend, great things were said about Origins and the Pathfinder Society Games this year.

No, not really. I know that's a very odd response, but unlike all other Pathfinder Society Scenarios -- this one requires a convention room to run it in terms of its rules and context.

Over on the Paizo forums Josh has said these specials will be available after they have been out for a year, until then - convention play only as Steel_Wind noted.

I believe this is the first year they are actually planning for the Special event be be released after a year of play. Josh said in a thread on the Paizo forums that this is the first one to actually be laid out and edited. Last years was apparently in pretty rough form and not written for public consumption.

Even though it is showing a SOLD OUT status, I'd remind hopeful players that both the Ennie Award Ceremony AND the Gygax Memorial Auction are at the same time! I'd suspect that there will be people who signed up for the Special before they realized the schedule conflict. Have a generic ticket in hand and show up anyway!
