Power source doesn't matter to me, it has no mechanical meaning and even the fluff importance has gotten diluted. The early power sources - Martial, Divine, Arcane - made sense to me fluffwise, but then they introduce "primal" and "shadow" and what have you. Primal and shadow don't really seem all that distinct from divine and arcane respectively, to me.
I have to agree with tyrlaan that there are noticeable differences in the theme of each power source. Divine powers are typically radiant, sometimes thunder or fire, and have a heavy leader component regardless of class role. Arcane powers have a strong controller component. Shadow powers (at least the ones that we've seen so far) are often illusion, fear, or poison based. Primal is perhaps the most nebulous, aside from using "elemental" damage sources (plus psychic for the shaman).Power source doesn't matter to me, it has no mechanical meaning and even the fluff importance has gotten diluted. How about "Essentien" or "Essenssin"?Edit: since this is the post-Essentials version, does that make it the "Essassin"?
This is in fact going to blow all of your minds:
It is shadow AND martial. It's a dual power source class.
