Online CB yea or nay?

Do you like the online Character Builder form Wizards?

One of the most frustrating things for me is the lack of summaries when you scan down feats. Previously, I could gklance at the pocket summaries for a jillion feats and quickly focus on the ones I wanted. Now that you need to click on the name for a description, it's taking much longer to make a hero. It's also a lot less fun. I don't care for that.
Less fun is a good way to describe the feeling I had with the new CB. And I don't think, unfortunately, that all of this are just bugs and performance issue. Some of it are just fundamental design decisions - like the green select buttons and their pop-up dialogs.

Every poll should be public. It seems to negate the ability of posters to 'rig' polls by voting dozens of times from one account.

That's a strange bug and one I hope you alerted to the mods. I find it highly unlikely that you can vote multiple times from the same account. In fact, try it here on this one and tell us when you're successful. This is a test so no one will get angry if you successfully vote twice from your Holy Bovine account. I can't even change my vote (from past voting experience) so I really doubt you can vote more than once.

PS. As a side note, it's funny when so many people actually state how they voted. Probably not realizing we already know (if we care to look).

Or WotC deciding what you can and cannot put into a 'home' game.

Vote: No.

It's missing huge chunks of functionality from the offline-builder.
*As PC noted, the new Feat interface is terrible.
*Even though it clearly works they chose not to enable Export.
*Removed support for 'Campaign Settings', which we use to hide most Dragon content.
*It crashes. Frequently.

Geez... why don't we wait a week for all the panic and the system itself to settle down first before running a poll like this, eh? Talk about putting the cart before the horse... ;)

Tell you what - when WotC actually fixes it, then you can make a thread asking what we feel about it.

When WotC fixes it.

If WotC fixes it.

Incidentally? No.

I'm just curious... how do you download "everything" of an ever expanding and continuously being eratta'd, refined, revised game?

In case you really are asking this honestly, you download everything pre-Essentials/Dark Sun. That's a boat load of content from a lot of books.

Actually as of Nov. 16th you can't do this anymore. And if you are talking about previously, well you were never able to download "everything" for $10 (as you just admitted essentials and DS was never included). Now I won't argue you couldn't get alot of content for cheaper... if you were willing to wait until after yearly subscribers got and were able to use said content and pay your $10 every so often... of course this was true for the books as well, since the older books go for much cheaper now than they did when they were first released... but I don't hear anyone complaining about how that is wrong.

So you hate it because you can't download everything for $10.

No, I hate it because is a piece of garbage. I spend a lot of time on business trips. Right now I'm in a hotel room and can't use it because "almighty portable online CB" does not work on my netbook.

It will be even worst when MB goes online and I won't be able to use it to prepare my games.

My subscription is annual and it will end only in july 2011. You assume too much.

I have voted no for the time being. I think it is a start to what could be something great but as it stands the new CB can't do what the old one is doing for our gaming groups.

Main things I want to see before I start using the new one is: Stability and character sheet customisation. I like the direction the new CB is going it just ain't there yet, and I don't expect it to be there until early next year. Until then, CB 'classic' it is for me. (I still have my sub though, I ain't giving up just yet)
