Adventure: Into the Wild

[sblock=ooc]

So that a month from a few days ago, when the hexblade becomes approved by L4W, I can quickly rebuild Haruka. If I level up now, then I won't be able to make Haruka a hexblade until she hits level 8. She probably won't have received the necessary xp from the adventure at that point, which means I'll need to spend DM credits. But this would worsen the party's level gap, and it feels a bit wasteful (not that I really have anything else to spend DM credits on). Besides, level 7 just brings a bit more survivability, which Haruka doesn't need, and another conditional encounter power that struggles to be better than Hellish Rebuke.

ren, you're missing a point of accuracy from your MBA. Go-go Staff Expertise. Haruka's MBA is still better, even if she doesn't get curse damage, but not by much. And hers doesn't have reach.[/sblock]

That's what I get for trusting the CB... ;)

You can make the hexblade now, it's just not legal for a month so if Mal hands out xp before then you lose out, but I don't see that happening.

[MENTION=88601]FourMonos[/MENTION] - that seems really cool. You'd be fine with the retirement rules to do that. I know we had someone else do the opposite, their PC died and came back as a revenant (well...two actually, Fissure/Fracture & an assassin...I forget the PC's name now) [/sblock]

OOC: Renau1g: I am confused about your equipment. When you transformed Ashir into a mage, did you basically retire Ashir 1.0 and then create Ashir 2.0 with standard rules for new characers (including new equiment)?

[sblock=ooc]
Ah yes...I should have detailed it better. I had to retire Ashir and replace with Ashir 2.0 (using the retirement rules) as you can't change a class with normal rebuild/overhaul rules. Plus he isn't proficient in tomes anymore. [/sblock]

If you got it, just convert her right now.

Thank you, I have done so. There isn't much competition over who has the best MBA anymore (it's me).

Mind if I run this by you guys?

My plan for Renquist is for him to be more human in mannerisms as he travels. Eventually (I'm thinking lvl 10 but that is... what, three years away?) I retire Renquist the Revenant and make a human cavalier or paladin named Renquist. His mission for Lauto complete.

I think that would be legal based on what I read on character retirement here. Thoughts?

Sounds cool. And I bet you could hit level 10 in only two years, even without DM credits. The other person to rez a character through a revenant was, um, well either the character was Atreus and the player was Atriden, or it was the other way around. Except he had planned for such a thing to happen, rather than making the best of a character death.

ren, mages are totally wizards. They're like, a subclass or something, since you still can take all the old powers and feats. I think cleaving to strict interpretation of L4W you can just use an overhaul rather than a retirement. At least, that's what I assumed when I rebuilt Haruka.[/sblock]

GM: Why does Haruka have +2 racial to both Constitution and Charisma?

She's human, it should be only one +2, right?

For the rest, I'll just trust you until they update the compendium. You got a good track record.

Raiko leads his flock and the other adventurers back to Daunton, taking advantage of the temprorary weakness in the folds of reality caused by the recent plane hopping.

The large troop finds itself crowded inside a chapel dedicated to Asmodeus, prince of devils, and surrounded by armed... city guards. Inspector combing the lair for clues, to be more accurate.

-''My mortal shell knew of this place and the barrier between worlds was very weak around here.'' Explains Raiko.

The city guards are bewildered and alarmed. Things could have gotten quickly out of hand but a familiar voice calms thing down.

-''Hold on everyone. Haruka? Yes. And Ashir and Max! Where is Raiko and who is big bird?'' exclaims Patrin, erstwhile employer of the fey stranded heroes and current employer of their rescuer.

The dragonborn order his guards to stand down. As he is brought up to speed he gasps in wonder at the ordeal of his comrades.

-''Wow, amazing! And I am sorry for Raiko. No offense, mr God.''

-''None taken. He was very brave.''

-''Guys, thank you!'' says Patrin to the adventurers he sent in search of the others. ''I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if these fine fellows had stayed stranded. Here is your promised payment for a job well done.''

He hands 600gp to Nementah, Ibram, Dante, Renquist and Rocco.

-''As for you my friends, we are all to be honoured and rewarded by city hall for that business of shutting down a devil worshipping cult. Ceremony is next week so try to be on time, okay?'' he says, hugging Haruka, Ashir and Max in turns.

-''All right, you'll have to forgive me, the aftermath of that mess is keeping me busy. One cell down, but it looks like Asmodeus has been busy in downtown and I'm looking for clues. Have a nice brew on me, you hear?''

GM: I didn't calculate the XP I gave the Into the Wild crew just before the last fight. This time 600gp isn't a precise calculation as for the other awayd but it's close enough.

"Ah...thank you" Ashir replies, removing himself from the embrace as quickly as he can. "I would love a drink, all that business with the fey has left me weary. Perhaps we can all grab some rest and regroup outside the Hanged Man tomorrow?" Ashir says, his body weary from the battle and planar travel.

[sblock=ooc]
So technically we haven't had an extended rest. Can we grab one :) [/sblock]
