Devas=Timelords?

Perhaps I'm not as up on all the races as much as a DM should be, I'm fairly unfamiliar with Devas, though I have player who's been using one for a bit now, so I'm learning about them as he fights, RP's ect.

They have something like "memories of a thousand lifetimes" and if they die they basically reincarnate (regenerate like a Timelord, but in a different location it sounds like).

Since the character is an Invoker most of his skills lean towards History/Religion/Arcana, so the character is mostly explaining things to the other PCs he is knowledgeable about nearly everything, I have therefore accused him (jokingly of course) of being The Doctor, does anyone else see the similarities?

That has been my deva character's concept since the PHB2 cam out, more or less. His history score is through the roof, because he lived through most of it.

There are also some hints of "small player in an eternal, unusual planar war" for the Devas, what with their angelic past and rakshasas and such. Which is pretty comparable to the Doctor being the last survivor of the Time War (an eternal, unusual war happening elsewhere that humanity is more or less unaware of).

Maybe I need to purchase myself a thirty foot long scarf and a dog shaped golem.

Dog shaped golem, that's a good idea...I suppose if I wanted to go overboard with it all I have the PC's discover a planar sphere (like in baulders gate 2) for them to hop around the planes in. :p

Think of it as more of a John Pertwee Timelord, than say a Christopher Ecclston Timelord; full recall of the Deva's past is blocked from him but he gets occasional flashes of his past lifetimes, that can be of help in current situations.

The Master as a Rakshasa?

As for K-9...

<Yes, Doctor?>

Now, about the Daleks and Cybermen?

Cybermen? A suit of armour with something dead inside? They couldn't be anything other than a Death Knight.

Daleks are a bit tougher. I can't think of anything that works, off the top of my head, so I'll say that some sort of aberrant construct would have to be created.

Of course they're all minions of these sorts, because one well-placed shot can take them out ;)
