[sblock=ooc] LOL, I thought that too after I typed it.
I don't know why, but when I first read it, I thought Narvala said it, thus the IC comment. Then I re-read it and realized she thought it.
I figured, wth... maybe they're on the same page. [/sblock]

Standard: Throw and Stab on Hobgoblin ending move in K3
I still have Unbalancing Parry, which I will use on the Hobgoblin IF he misses me.

Hobbo is prone, ranged attack have -2 to hit, which doesn't affect you, but CA granting on MBA does. Add two to your roll

OOC: Yay, I think that means I hit with the big damage at least. Figured with the low HP Baern is better over there. What are the tags for the IC thought bubbles?

Cairn gets his bearings, deciding that to protect the weakest members of the group before he falls, he should disable hobhoblin leader. He moves away from Gurg, but not before pushing distracting spirits of stone toward him. Gurg's footing becomes unstable whenever he looks away from the moving cairn.

Cairn slashes at the hobgoblin, hoping Gurg will follow him, but ready to get to him if not.

"Lady divine, move away from the beast, he cannot follow you." His voice starts rumbling and deeper hollow voice says "I promise you it'll hurt more if you get up then if you don't, hobbo. You had your chance to be on our good side."

With the hobgoblin tied up by Cairn's power, Narvala ran to Veruza's side and poured one of her potions of healing down her throat.

Baern is thrown back by the blow...he staggers and falls into the wall of light. It invigorates him as he stands up. He sees his quarry still menacing his allies but feeling weak on his legs. Cairn, I'm switching targets. He drops one waraxe and draws a handaxe, throwing it at the hobgoblin before moving in with his remaining weapon held high in two hands.

"I'm glad you're telling the lizardman what to do, Ugly. You're making mistakes left and right."

He slides away from the lizardman, shutting the door as he moves.

"And you aren't dying if I have anything to say about it, Narvala."

A column of lightning erupts into space next to the two women, an obvious deterrent to the enemies.

"Let's see if they keep making mistakes."

don't... want... to... die... mutters the young cleric, after the potion begins coursing through her, No... die...

The Lizardman moves in and stabs Nyar in the chest, staggering him.

The Hobgoblin yells "To me." to Gurg. Gurg obliges by moving closer. "Kill both of these now!' the Hobgoblin orders as he swings at Baern from the ground, slashing him open across the thighs and dropping him.

Gurg tries to grab Cairn, but Cairn easily avoids it. "Arrgghhh." Getting frustrated, Gurg then tries to punch Cairn twice, but misses with both.

[sblock=OOC]
Note: I will be stating from now on whether the PCs hit or not. I should have been doing this the entire time, but I just zoned on it.

Cairn hits the Hobgoblin.

Hobgoblin hits Narvala for 8 with Opportunity Attack.

12+mods hits for 8.

Baern misses (some foe) with the throw (note: you cannot both throw and stab on the same target, I'll allow the MBA one that hits the Hob to hit based on your move, but you need to read your powers more carefully for the future), but hits the Hobgoblin with the stab (also, the damage is 1d12+7, not 1d12+8).

Lizardman hits Nyar for 8.

19+mods hits for 8.

Hobgoblin shifts Gurg closer and hits Baern for 8.

15+mods hits for 8.

Gurg misses Cairn.

natural 1.

Gurg misses Cairn twice.

12+mods misses, 8+mods misses.

Note: I need a death saving throw from Baern at the beginning of the PC's turns.

Note: Narvala gets 5 temp hit points at the start of her next turn.

Lizardman, 62, Bloodied, 10 temp hit points
Hobgoblin, 101, Bloodied
Gurg, 163, quarried by Baern, Bloodied, marked by Cairn
Cairn 17/63, Bloodied, 5 temp hit points
Baern 0/47, Bloodied, prone, unconscious, dying, marked by Hobgoblin
Nyar 3/33, Bloodied
Narvala 29/46, marked by Hobgoblin
Veruza 10/40, Bloodied, prone

It's the PC's turn.

Sand pit is difficult terrain. Weight benches and other equipment give cover bonus for ranged attacks.

OOC: Merry Christmas! I still don't understand the 4e rules for 0hp vs -1hp. Neurotic, the reason Baern can do +8 damage is that he can hold the Waraxe in two hands after throwing, it is versatile. (they changed Throw/Stab and I thought I had the text right, I will double check.
