The man immediately appears suspicious "Excuse me. Who exactly are you sir?" he asks Nyar, still pretty much ignoring the others except for an occasional glance. His body language changes from indifference to interest and the question is not focusing on what Nyar wants, but who Nyar is.

Even without Insight rolls, the team has overplayed its hand with the mental delays in speech and the "placing Nyar way above the station of what is expected".

You bought nice clothes, not noble clothes (and that's probably unusual behavior for all but the most arrogant of nobles).

An immediate simple request for a table is more in line with what such a person would expect, not dramatics.

The situation is now one of the man taking unusual interest in the group.

Think the restaurant scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Baern mumbles You're not paying me enough for this. He raises his eyebrow and shrugs at the guard. Uh, a table for their %highness is probably what they are wanting. Just came to town looking for a cultured time.

*Why are you looking at me? I don't know what cultured OR high class mean.*

OOC: % is sarcasm
Bluff?

*That may have saved us Baern, nicely done. Stay here a moment ladies.*

The glare at the dwarf would burn holes in wood. Nyar casually steps forward, his northern Anduir accent thick (and accentuated) in his speech. He steps close to the steward so no one can casually over hear him.

"Listen, good Sir. Let's not let dwell on titles. Let us just say that I am... no one of importance. A casual diner. My interest piqued by the stories I heard about the Sky Nest, and I simply wanted a... night out on the town... without hassle."

Nyar gives a small snap of his fingers, then puts his hand out, low and casual.

*Can someone quickly slide some 5 gold into my hand so I can non-chalantly tip the man?*

Baern's roll wasn't quite high enough.

I'll now need a Diplomacy or Bluff (not both) from Nyar.

Preferably Bluff, but a slightly higher Diplomacy roll will work as well.
