D&D 5E cancelled 5e announcement at Gencon??? Anyone know anything about this?

No, it doesn't. See, the word history actually means something, and while there is a fair bit of history about sigil in planescape, there is not really that much at all about the great wheel, prior to the two fiendish codex books.

Ad&D 1999 "Warriors of Heaven" and "Guide to Hell" (which had a picture of the great wheel on page 3) had tons of history.

Even clarified how the Serpents of Law created the Great Wheel by forming an orobos. (not everyone cared for that version, but it was there)

Designers Christopher Perkins and Chris Pramas respectively.

I happened upon a DeLorean today, took it up to the right speed and checked out 5e.

It's delivered as a perfumed spray and - the really important bit you've all been waiting for - the dispensing mechanism doesn't harm the ozone layer.

One or two or you may question the choice of a spray, but it's inexpensive, convenient and can substitute as a present for your girlfriend in times of emergency.

I know . . . I was scared too. How it might react with deodorants was an issue, but by the time I'd stopped complaining I'd clean forgot to get round to using it anyway

Well with this many 'trustworthy people' who seems to know and tell everyone about it. Kinda makes them not so trustworthy doesn't it? I always find that funny when something like this happens. You get information that is under NDA or what not and someone talks and you call them a 'trustworthy source'.

I think just you and Umbran used the word "trustworthy" while others used "reliable." :)

Wonder if Rodney Thompson is the 'source' you know the only guy Morrus talked to from WotC at Gencon. Perhaps it was someone from WotC who didn't go to Gencon and was all huffy about not being able to go, so they gave crucial sensitive info to Morrus.

Maybe we'll know more after the holiday layoffs. There's nothing like losing your job to make you a reliable source for someone else. ;)

As far as I know the source only told one person, Morrus. He on the other hand told all of us around him. I'm not sure people have to sign NDA to know about an announcement.

I've known Rodney for years way before he got hired at Wizards. He used to come to Origins every year and while I don't know him well enough to call a friend I have a lot of respect for him. It's because of that respect I will say he is not the source. I'd hate to see his name get drawn into this unfairly.

There are plenty of people I have no problem if people think they are the source of the rumor so I won't be eliminating just anyone that is guessed as the source. :D

Please go back and read a whole lot of material from prior to 3e. Specifically the Bloodwar box set, Faces of Evil: The Fiends, and the trio of Planes of X box sets, plus some of the late 2e non-Planescape sources after they folded the line back in - Warriors of Heaven, Guide to Hell, and a bit in Vortex of Madness. There are timelines, there is history, and I truly don't know what you're talking about regarding only Sigil having a history prior to late 3e; that's just honestly silly if you're being serious.

Figures! They're completely ignoring the old school crowd yet again by not including the ability to use 5E with an atomizer!

Bastards!

:p
