You have no idea how funny that comment is. In the end this is just some silly internet rumor that will soon die. At some point the name of the source will be known or at least suspected. Right now this is just entertainment.

I always enjoy it when people speak out about things they don't know about on the internet especially people new to a community. It seems to be what it is for.

You give me a lot of credit with having minions. I don't have any people. Most rumors are silly and by the time we get to a thread this long that offers nothing new it gets even sillier. If you can't find the humor here then you might be taking this a little to seriously.

That comment wasn't even about you, you've been on to the site for over 3 years. I think that taking offense to something like that says a lot about you though.

There are no editions wars going on here at least not that I'm involved in. If you don't want to believe the people that know something about the rumor that's fine. But this going around and around is kind of pointless.

Honestly, it would really only matter if and when they make the annoucement.

None of us can confirm or deny this rumor because it is of something that was cancelled that wasn't published as of yet.

There was one thread about the Q&A where something was mentioned that they weren't ready for and honestly I would be inclined to believe that was what the rumor was really referring too.

Far as the edition war stuff, it ain't worth it.
If 5th Ed comes out and I pick it up and like it, I'll buy it. If I don't like it, I won't buy it. It's fairly simple in that aspect.

I still look at 4th Ed books for fluff stuff just as I look at 1E Modules and work them in as fluff and setting stuff for 3E and vice versa.

Heck if you looked at my campaign notes, you would discover I play the BECMI/1E/2E/3E/3.5E/Pathfinder/4E/Homebrew/3PP Edition.

Exactly. This is a discussion site with a history of emphasis on news. Sometimes this includes discussing rumors as well. This one seems limited to a thread or two, so for people that have no interest in discussing rumors it is easy to avoid while enjoying the rest of the site.

Hey you're free to your opinion... perhaps 4e fans really are blameless victims that are bullied and disparaged by the3.x/PF fans and never insult or mock anything about said gamers favorite company, games or choices.

Of course I have at least some evidence that this just isn't the truth (and honestly I believe you are smart enough to know this.). There are plenty of threads here on Enworld where 4e fans put down Paizo, insinuate or outright call the company thieves or unoriginal hacks, and make claims that seem to hint that the players of 3.5 and PF aren't really having fun with their "broken" games, and so on. So please show me some evidence that it only goes one way and I'll be happy to change my opinion... can you say the same?

Again, I understand your opinion, but opinion does not equal truth. As an ardent 4e fan I can understand your view that the image of your average internet-going anti-4e poster has suffered. And let me assure you I can also understand the view that the same has happened to the average internet-going anti 3.x/PF fan as well.
