Dear Wizards of the Coast...

This thread is about features you would like to see implemented in Dragon articles or future updates or even Dungeon articles and adventures and other published material. Sort-of like a wish-list.

The reason for this is that I often find myself thinking, "Geez, if I was a developer at WotC, I'd do this..." only because I lack the intelligence, wisdom and charisma of a remotely competent and productive member of society, the chances of me being published in any of the above media is a fraction below zero.

So why not tell them what I want?

Of course, if I was to just limit it to what I wanted, the thread would be drowned out under the deluge of other people's suggestions in these and other forums. So instead of it all being about me, I figured we could cry out with a collective whiny voice for things we want and collate it all in one place: this thread.

Thus there are rules to posting here. Well, ok, guidelines. The idea is to K.I.S.S. your idea into one succinct and easy to grasp post. Think of it in terms of a high-concept movie pitch; you're in front of a panel of Fox producers, who are the most fickle and small-minded in all man-kind, and you have to convince them in under thirty seconds why they should bother with your puny, measly, inconsequential meaningless drivel (as stated from their perspective... because producers are mean and these are FOX producers).

Draconic Heritage Options

I want to see racial options like those for eladrin and dwarves seen in the Neverwinter Campaign Guide, for Dragonborn. Specifically I'd like to see the almost always redundant and useless Draconic Heritage have options to be swapped out for something that will benefit the predominantly low Constitution classes that Dragonborn are suited for.

A new, non-Western European medieval setting AND a year devoted to the Dream power source, complete with both a Heroes of the Dream Plane and a DM's boxed set.

Pre-Class Status: "Yokel."*
A character having the Yokel pre-class status would start with PC-worthy Abilities, Background, and Race, but no Equipment, 1st-level Feat, Gold, Theme, or Trained Skills. (Humans could start with their racial bonus feat.)
[Reasons: No Theme because that would require much study by the player to choose one appropriate to a more-fully fleshed-out character concept; and no Trained Skills because the selection of those should depend on Class, which the Yokel doesn't have yet.]

A Yokel would be able to advance to 1st level in a chosen base class or hybrid class (with the DM's permission) by undergoing apprenticeship, employment, and/or training; but such a character would not start with the standard 100 GP of 4E, nor with the class-specific "roll for it" sums of earlier editions; but the DM could approve some starting GP pittance.

This would give onlookers something to do in-game, and a chance to roleplay without having to take on the role of a hero or having to learn the rules before playing. (Might be useful when there's a Game Day, and you don't want to have to turn extra people away from participating merely because there's a lack of qualified DMs available to run enough tables.)

* alternate class names might be: Bumpkin, Zero, Blank, Spare, Civilian, Henchman, Loser, "Extra" (as in the movies), or Spam. (Spam is so often an option in so many things. . . .)

i want to see more backdrops, they go a long way towards fleshing out some of the things i was missing from the FR campaign guide.
