The crackling fire, and thud of falling timbers from what is left of the burning apothecary interrupt an eerie pause as a red flush of red passes over Vythdar Astrix's face, "I did not come here to parlay as if I had a losing hand in the matter!" The man in gray is livid, and his voice softens, menacingly accentuating each syllable as a a mother scolding a disobedient child, "I made a demand. And you will comply."

Vythdar Astrix raises a hand signaling to the archer on the roof.

A crossbow bolt sails through the air, but falls just short of Max's foot.

As the bolt strikes the ground, Seraphine screams as a second bolt finds its mark in her shoulder, sending her spinning.

When Max reverts his gaze toward Vythdar Astrix, he finds the gray-coated 'gentleman' directly in front of him. Max doubles over as Vythdar's sword exploits a chink in Max's armor. With the force of a hammer, two more blows from the same sword send Max to the pavers, crumpling in a pool of his own blood.

A bodyguard moves in to finish the job, and Max goes silent, breathing, but only barely.

The second bodyguard surges ahead to interpose himself between Vythdar and Seraphine. A threatening, but effective strike with a greatsword serves as warning against any furher encroachment.

Seraphine is bleeding profusely, but the pain of the blow is only exascerbated by the sudden fall of her compainion.

The two thugs from the Apothacary move forward, but they manage only to distract Virgil and Seraphine with threats.

Vythdar, breathing heavily with rage, but nowhere near exhaustion towers over Max's fallen form, "It seems such a shame to waste such talent, but I can accommodate anyone who would like to be next?"

OOC: This is going to get messy with all the immediate actions that are possible, as well as the bonuses of proximity. Could you do me a favor, when you post your rolls, could you break out your bonuses so I can se where they come from. I know this can get cumbersome, but I want to make sure I have an accurate view of what you can dish out.

Example: Attack: 1d20+18(base)+2(Flanking)+3(Aura of Strength)= Total result vs. AC etc...

You can do this in either IC or in your post or both.

BTW: @Luinnar : The HP in the status block above account for the 14 damage that was done in the previous round.
The bodyguard to Vythdar's right sees the Draglin approaching. He can't stop the dragonborn's blade, but he can make it painful.

Draglin is now marked and gains no CA from flanking with Seraphine.

OOC: [MENTION=79440]H.M.Gimlord[/MENTION] the bodyguard's stat block makes it sound like it auto marks targets next to them at the end of its turn, but Draglin was not next to a bodyguard. Would he still trigger its ability?

And I HATE Astrix's reaction ability :p
