Character Submission Thread

Sure, I will help! I didn't realize the second approval didn't have to be a judge. I will start getting on them today.

Thanks. The higher level characters only require one approval per level and that is to be done by a judge. But for first level characters, yes, a general player can do one of the two approvals. It helps lighten the load a bit for us.

No problem Systole. You got an extra game rolling. That was a good accomplishment for the month. ;)

Reviewing Ellamin:
a) I did a bit of formatting rearrangement. It is easier to see which abilities you have now.
b) I marked the untrained class skills.
c) In the mindchemist section, you have Fast Poisoning. But, I can't find where it is from or what it is. It didn't have a description.

Nothing wrong, but I have a few suggestions.
A) Spread the skills out a bit more. You have several class skills that are untrained. 1 skill point turns into a +4 on each of them.
B) You have disable device as a class skill. Invest it in. Few classes have it, and those classes are rarely played.
C) You are going overboard with the languages. On top of that, you have Tongues, which is every language. The high linguistics usage is fine. But, spending your only discovery on 3 more languages seems like wasted overkill. You could turn that discovery into a Skill Focus feat, or Explosive Bomb to do significantly better bomb damage.
D) You can bluff or intimidate extremely well, but have a sense motive of 1? Can we say gullible? Both Sense Motive and Diplomacy could use some skill points spent.
E) Put some Boots of Striding and Springing on your "want to buy soon" list. Your move 20' is going to become a hindrance at higher levels.

I think "One trick pony" best describes the feel of Ellamin currently. And it isn't a combat trick. Some diversity will make him a much more useful character.

I have given Ellamin a tentative APPROVAL, but I really suggest a bit of a skills shuffle.

C) Skill Focus would be a good option; I honestly don't seeing using the bombs all that much; they weren't the main reason I went into that class, and aren't really going to have much staying power at his overall level with only two levels of mindchemist
D) This highlights one of the few gripes I have with the bard class. I love Versatile Performance, but without some way to retrain the skills points out of the affected skills once you get it, it can be tough to place points in skills that eventually will be obsolete. I'll go ahead and rearrange skill points for now, and propose a solution to the problem in another thread when I get a chance to think on it.
E) I'm not desperately worried about movement with Ellamin. I'll want to deal with it sooner or later, but precise positioning really isn't a critical issue for him.

Most of his combat versatility is going to come through his spells and other abilities, so I don't think he's quite as one dimensional as he might appear on paper; my bigger concern is that he fails to be really good at anything because he's a bit too spread out. I think the fast poisoning thing snuck in while copying and pasting a lot of abilities at once.

Made some adjustments to Elliman's skills, as well feat choice, versatile performance choice, and spell selection to reflect overall changes. His spells and bardic performance now work a bit more in concert with each other. I'm still not completely satisfied about his skills, but I could probably have twice as many skill points and still not be entirely satisfied, and the new arrangement should please others a bit more.

Satin Knights: Just an FYI, there are only 2 lvl 1s in the queue and neither have their first approval. I will keep a watch out for when they get that judge's approval and grab it then.

Okay. I took a first look at Canasta.
a) I tweaked several format areas by replacing "Misc" with the appropriate value. It is easier to see the info than to scroll up and down to figure out what the Misc might be.
b) Big one here. Since you are replacing Audra Frost, you (can if you want to) start at the minimum XP and GP for 6th level. You don't have to start all the way back at first level.

So, a major difference there to figure out first.

Grimblade was the other. But, I haven't heard a peep from his player, so he may have got bored and disappeared already. Unfortunately it happens.

Quick scan returns one problem that needs to be addressed for Grimblade before an approval, that's Traits need to be selected.
Also, the mods should be added in with the attributes (which I can do if the player is still standing by waiting)
