Leif's 1E AD&D Game OOC

Greyhawk Online

There is a great deal of material online that deals with various aspects of the World of Greyhawk. I'g suggest just Googling whatever interests you. however, be forewarned that some material is pretty far out there and may or may not be accurate in this game. Think of it as a source of rumors or something. The Greyhawk deity information, though, should be pretty reliable, but I won't guarantee that it will apply 100%.

[sblock=Pelor]

In the World of Greyhawk campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, Pelor is the god of the Sun, Light, Strength, and Healing. Pelor is also a prominent member of the third edition of the game's default pantheon, and is a popular choice among player character clerics because he is the only god of said pantheon with the healing domain. He is known as the Shining One, and the Sun Father. He is known as the creator of much that is good. His holy symbol is a face in a sun.
Pelor is the deity of the iconic cleric, Jozan.

FYI: I probably will not be subscribing to those complete deity entries posted by DeWar. The deities themselves are there for any pc who so chooses, but the more their descriptions get into information about who is doing what, where, and to whom, the less likely they are to be stating facts about my game and the more likely they are just unsubstantiated rumors.

Edit: Leif -- fixed it

What did you fix?

I'm going to drop. Summer just sucks time, but I like spending it outside.
Understandable and understood! Thanks for letting me know.

You had the code for one of the headings that you've since removed boogered up so that it wasn't looking right. Total non-issue now, though. I'll remove my comment.

Specifically, nothing. Go with what's published in books, and that will almost certainly be fine. If you start getting into some of the things that are out there on the WWW, well, I'm not making any promises. If anything is problematic, or you think it might be so, ask first, please?

Well, first Ed didn't really worry too much on spheres of influence, did it? just need to choose an alignment, and aim for Pelor's Ideals, iirc.

way back in early 80's we would play it open slots even.

Just good can't cast evil, control undead, animate dead, make unholy water or make human sacrifices .. .. ..
evil can cast any spell, animate, control or turn undead, make human sacrifices; but can not make holy water.

we played fast and loose back then.

Yeah, back before the Sorcerer class was even invented, Scotley and I used to let our M-Us choose spells on the fly to fill slots that they had open. But I suspect that was one of the most common house-rules around. Therefore, someone decided to codify it as the Sorcerer class and bring it into the fold, as it were.

Edit: That was 'back in the day' before we realized how good we had it with simple, straightforward 1E rules, when I was young and foolish. A pre-grognard, if you will.
