D&D 5E Why I'm Buying the Starter Set

I'm a seasoned(old) player and you may not think I have any need for the Starter Box.
But;
I'm going to use the box set to try to introduce new players to D&D.
I'm a collector.
I don't want to wait for the core 3.
I want to start a new game right away.

Alas, my oldest nephew is still a little young for D&D, but perhaps with 6e...

I'll probably pick up the Starter Set, mostly as a guide to whether WotC have actually learned any lessons on how to put these things together. Besides, at $20 it's probably worth it even just for the 'bits'.

I am in as well. I am not a D&D guy anymore, but its a brand that I want to see stay strong. With it supporting levels 1-5, its perfect to scratch that D&D itch at a reasonable price.

Kudos to Wizards on this.

I'm a collector. Well...I have a collector's tastes on a mooching player's budget. :p

Still, I'll be getting the starter set (and everything else) eventually....some day...over the rainbow...when I find the pot of gold at the end of said rainbow.

If I buy any 5e, it'll be the starter box. I'm weighing 5e as an alternative to Pathfinder for running one-shots and the starter box is probably the right weight for that... but the box needs to be better than just using Pathfinder (for a group that already knows it) or pulling out the Rules Cyclopedia.

So it might be a tough sell. I'll have to take a look at it, which is harder said than done for a boxed product. We'll see if I run into it at GenCon, I guess.

Cheers!
