D&D 5E Strangely enough, theres very little info about classes in 5e....

Of course I don't mean mechanics (etc etc) I mean the actual classes in 5e PHB. I've been searching around for about 10 minutes and I found a list but that list didn't include monks. So is their information inaccurate or are we going to see the downfall of monks as a basic class?

The basic classes are only the Cleric, Fighter, Rogue and Wizard and in July you will only have the start box with the PHB due in August.

That's correct, but the OP was referring to the classes in the PHB.

We had confirmation from Mike Mearls that the classes would be that of the latest playtest package plus the sorcerer and the warlock.

So we have 12 classes: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Wizard.

So just to make absolutely clear, the site which I got my information from was wrong and Monks WILL be in the game....?

3.5 had 11 classes and they are adding the warlock. Warlord, Assassin and Illusionists are some sort of sub classes AFAIK.
IIRC, Warlord should be a subclass of Fighter. Illusion will be one of the school specialties for wizards. At the moment, I don't recall anything about assassins, but they would certainly make sense as a subclass of rogues.

Any news on that Green Knight they had in the playtest? That was awesome.
I would like as well to see some kind of nature champion. Ever since they moved the choice of oath at 3rd level, this option has disappeared. Maybe someone has heard whether it will be included as an option in the PHB.
