Those spells are already in the basic game. They just left them off the wizard's list.

I want to get upset about this but can't. Wizards did so much at high levels and clerics had so little that just they could do. Making the spells unique to clerics is fine.

Seeing as I have the Starter Set, and there is a drow in the adventure, they have faerie fire, and there is no description of it anywhere I can find.

The ability to throw together an unlikely combination of class and background for an instantly less generic character is the biggest innovation in D&D character creation since I started playing twenty-odd years ago (IMO).

Yes. This along with Bounded Accuracy and Advantage/Disadvantage are my top three reasons for using 5e.
