I wish them luck, but since WotC took the high road of "We wont discus it" they should too... between making them "Theives in the night" and now saying they ""Saying you can write your stories, but not share them, is the wrong way to do it" I think they need a leason in professionalism...

I agree they seem a bit juvenile in their updates and interviews, but that may be being a bit harsh. Im sure their sour over the deal but just try to move forward with whatever you have. They seem to be hurting themselves with these remarks no matter how true or false they may be.

WotC has spent the last decade screwing up digital and the internet every chance they have gotten. So yes, obviously this is their third party developers' fault!

No, it's not being harsh.

Harsh would be pointing out that their updates are or appear to be inane drivel.

Harsh could also be pointing out that they'd be better off either shutting the hell up or telling the whole story, rather than the couched seeming attempts at besmirching WotC's (admittedly not sterling) reputation, because such snark usually does more damage to the image of the company doing the whinging than the company targeted.

My problem is why people aren't more outraged that one again Wizards took their toys and went home.

I'm really looking forward to what trapdoor is going to announce, and I am hoping that when people see what their program can do and compare it to the possibilities with D&D, the outrage will make the 4e digital fiasco seem like a child's temper tantrum.

Because that's a ridiculous characterization, and this isn't the sort of thing that reasonable people get "outraged" over.

I think the last thing the gaming community needs is more comical outrage for outrage's sake. I think it'd be really cool if we found it within ourselves to approach things with a bare minimum of composure. I think it's appropriate that you chose to characterize the previous bouts of outrage as "a child's temper tantrum", because frankly that's what it looks like to everyone else.

I am not mad at Trapdoor, I was one of the first to sign up for beta testing. I am slightly disappointed that it looks like the initial release won't support 5e, which my group has jumped head first into playing.

Of course, in 5e I do feel less of a need for e-support, but was looking forward to it still.

I am greatly discouraged that WotC "seems" to be repeating their electronic tool flailings about. (my words).

But we shall see what we shall see.

There are certainly other issues more worthy of outrage than the lack of a digital app for a brand new tabletop RPG, in my opinion.

Because in business that can be one of the most sensible decisions.

Their experience with the third party developer promising them the 4e tools teached them what happens when they just let someone continue using their toys on nothing but vague promises that things will improve and the next deadlines will be met

People have seen their so called beta (more of an alpha) and were not impressed and obviously neither was WotC and they chose to use an contractual exit option rather than risking another 4e digital tools disaster. Companies sign contracts, one party can't just willy nilly back out unless the other party screwed up something big enough to give them an exist opportunity.

Wow, they honestly sound like they have their heads up their butts. They seem to really think that people are "fans of Project Morningstar" rather than fans of a good tool for whatever game they're playing. Are they seriously trying to promo a character builder without mentioning the dang game system it's for? I don't care how shiny the stat selection is, I'm not going to go buy and read a thousand pages of Pathfinder books (or whatever) to have the opportunity to use it.
