D&D 5E I believe the D&D boardgames actually hinder the table top game.

You are a pessimist, a doomsayer, and you've made your complete hatred for Wizards quite clear. There is nothing they can do to make you happy. I honestly don't know why you're even posting in the 5e section of the forum when you've made it so abundantly clear how much you love Pathfinder.

Actually, what they can do to make me happy is actually release a healthy dose of products.

I do like Pathfinder and I do like 5th edition D&D but I know when to acknowledge which is the better company with the better plan.

Sailor Moon: Isn't that image Hero Quest, that's an old Games Workshop game, right?
I'm not entirely sure how that supports your point.

Sailor Moon-I don't think you have a whole lot to worry about on this one. The anemic release schedule you're talking about in your other thread is a more real concern.

But I believe the attention to other areas other than table top part is one of the reasons why we have a poor release schedule. They don't seem to be capable of juggling both.

Complimentary huh? Seems like the D&D boardgames continue to become more and more complex and have more parts. I could understand if it was a simple boardgame that took all of 5 minutes to setup but take a long look at the image of this game. If you are a die hard table top gamer then this isn't directed at you because you are going to play TTRPG's no matter what. Unfortunately I would say there is a large population who doesn't think like this and not to mention new customers.

as a pretty big gamer, I will say I play https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/elder-sign/ much more often then https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/arkham-horror/ and I loved arkham horror when it first came out but quick to set up games are becoming my main stay... I would rather spend my time playng the game.

It was a sample pic I grabbed from Google. When you look at the games like Castle Ravenloft, Wrath of Ashardalon, The Legend of Drizzt, and Conquest of Nerath, they aren't that far off.

But one of your points in the post with that picture is how that game takes way more than 5 minutes to set up. In fact, Ravenloft and the other D&D board games do take only about 5 minutes or less to set up.

Eh, that looks pretty cool actually. I'd play that, I also play the RPG. The two aren't mutually exclusive. In fact I think the boardgames are more of a gateway into the RPG.

I am a big fan of those boardgames (I own them all and plan on buying the next) but it takes a little more then 5 mins... it is no arkahm horror or pandemic, but it takes a good ten mintes to unbox pick a scenero pick characters and set up scenero... if you aren;t used t it maybe more like 15 to 20
