D&D 5E Light release schedule: More harm than good?

As my attention slowly turns elsewhere, what I find disappointing is that, if WotC ends up releasing something that might interest me, I may not even be aware of it.

Now there's a question. If they do a couple of big splash releases per year, will you miss the release?

Compared to say, book a month releases?

How many 2e releases passed you by, buried in the noise? I know many slipped past me. 4e was the same. I couldn't tell you more than two or three 4e books. Didn't care. Even 3e, when I was still buying more books, blew past me.

To date, the official support for 5e from WotC has been significantly less than the support for 3e, considering only the first month's content in Dragon and Dungeon magazine, and not considering online support, since I don't have any kind of record for that.

I know what you want me to say, but I'm a journalist, and sorting out information is something I'm good at. But I can't focus on everything at the same time, and if I lose interest in something like D&D, I'm not very likely to hear about new releases.

I only started reading the forums after I started following the site for news items.

I don't use any aggregator for that kind of thing and yes, if things go quiet on the WotC front, I will stop coming around here.
