D&D 5E Tiamat's related fiends

I'm running Tiranny of Dragons, and one of my players is going to pick a warlock who has a pact with an unnamed fiend. So I want this fiend to be related to tiamat in someway (ally, minion, superior or foe) something to give the character a connection to main plot.

I don't know much about tiamat's relationships... Any suggestions??

I like Bel he is supposed to be plotting with asmodeus a betrayal upon tiamat to lock her up in her realm, but I would like even more an ally of tiamat so when the time is right the warlock will have to choose sides

Well Bel and Zariel are rivals, so if Bel is plotting against Tiamat, it'd make sense for Zariel to be working the opposite side.

That could be an option... He may offer help in tiamat's escape of avernus in exchange for her support in gaining the avernus back under his rule

I may be misreading your last post, so this might be unnecessary, but just as a bit of clarification:

As of 5th Edition, Zariel is ruling Avernus again (and is female.)

Bel was deposed, apparently with Asmodeus siding against him.

I don't have my books with me, but I think it says Asmodeus has forced Bel to work as Zariel's lieutenant again, so their rivalry would probably involve a lot of subterfuge, with Asmodeus in the background playing them both.

I think the Pit Fiends you are talking about are the Dark Eight. They are the generals of the Brood War, and allies of Bel.

Also, the only reason I have any knowledge of it is because I just started playing a PC who is a Warlock in a pact with Zariel.

I seem to recall Mammon being antagonistic to Tiamat (competition over the souls of the greedy) if you wanted to go foe. I think Dispater was her ally in Scales of War (in 4e, so I am not sure if that carried over).

I doubt Mephistopheles is her ally, but if her leaving was a blow to Asmodeus, he might be willing to provide a little indirect support with some plausible deniability via a warlock (I just traded power for a soul, how did I know he/she would help Tiamat?)
