D&D 5E Sentinel feat

Celtavian

Dragon Lord
I don't think those with opposing views are making any sense, which I assume applies likewise to those that don't agree with me. Therefore, I will leave it with we agree to disagree.

And neither side will admit they are wrong until there is an official ruling, so it is a pointless argument. That being said if they had intended it for other than the Disengage action, they would have included "even if they take the Disengage action or similar abilities." There is absolutely nothing in the language of the feat that even implies it applies to other than the Disengage action. They even include when they leave your reach after "Even if they take the Disengage action." That makes it even more clear that the Disengage action is the only action it applies to.

It's completely unfair to shut down one feat with another, which is why I don't think it applies to anything except Disengage.
Umm.... That's still shutting down one feat with another.

That said, i agree sentinel is specific to disengage. That may not of been the intent, but it's how it's written. It would be nice to get some official word on the intent.

Note that the third point, is not an opportunity attack, so that works.

Sentinel also has other aspects, including the Mobility user attacking someone beside the Seninel user triggering an attack. Its not shut down. Its only partially denied.

And mobility has other aspects, like +10 speed and ignoring difficult terrain.
