Anyone likes to share pictures so tht we can judge the real deal rather than the CGI renderings?

I got 3 boxes yesterday (those who got cases, man that must have been expensive lol). Here they are in comparison to the rest of the giants I have. I'm not really a fan of making them bigger, because now it throws off the scale of all the other giants. Minor, issue, I know.

I dont like the size creep of frost giants. Even the new giant from tyranny is much smaller. New hill giant is much bigger than older hill giants/older fire/frost but the fomorian is a lot smaller than previous 2

Going to be silly to mix/match old/new giants

I am really happy that we are finally getting huge giants (well we had them before but not for a long time...I only have 1 of the older huge ones).

Disappointments include that the Formorian is only large, even though they should be huge like the rest. The winter wolf is out of place in a set which is otherwise full of huges. 14 of the 16 'big' ones are huge. The Winter Wolf is tiny in comparison. I am also not a big fan of the decision on the commons. Some of them I really don't want multiples of.

Overall I think it is a great set. These last few D&D sets have been very good both with sculpt/painting as well as set decisions such as rarity and now including huges in the regular boxes.

I much prefer these sets over the Pathfinder ones.

Not really a fan of these miniatures. Way too expensive for such bad quality. I much prefer Bones for my miniature needs, more detailed sculpts at affordable price. Bones require much more work though, since they come unpainted, but the paint job on D&D miniatures is so horrible that any self respecting miniature hobbyist is going to have to repaint them anyway. At least the sculpts are not bad.

I picked up a pack today. The stone giant looks really nice but it quite a bit bigger than the older sculpts. Also the stone giants average 18' tall so the minis should 3-4" tall but looks to be around 6 inches (not measured yet, just estimating). Maybe I can use it for a stone giant chieftain.

The other 3 minis were just meh (githzerai monk, dark mantle, and some guy names Crag something with a massive sword).

Fortunately, these minis are not designed for miniature hobbyists, they are designed for D&D role players and DMs. I like to run my game using lots of minis, and I prefer to spend my time planning the adventures, developing my own campaign, and prepping for the next game session. (I am running my home-brew D&D world).
