D&D 5E Return to The Temple of Elemental Evil - (full, at the moment)

I would be in for short rest being anything 15+ minutes, BUT ONLY 1 between encounters (even if it is longer than 15 minutes) to avoid 4th edition syndrome of healing mutliple times or using encounter utilities etc...between every 5 minutes

I never played fourth edition, but my question would be why would you need to take more than 1 rest between encounters? Is there something someone could do over and over again? Either way you would have to have an encounter before you could rest from one in my book so no problems there.

Rest Option:
Yeah: 1
Nay: 3

Amendment 1:
Yeah: 2
Nay: 0

Got it all fixed up, thanks. Norbrit was dwarf fighter that I mad for another campaign. Sadly, the game died before he saw any action. I just used his sheet as a template for Hexiros and missed that part. Thanks again for catching it! :)

Hexiros is posted in the RG now, and should be ready to roll.

Yes but where to put him in the opening. I guess your character could be hired on as a guardsman for his caravan. The merchant is heading from Enstad north to Verbobonc, and passing through Hommlet to pick up goods (mostly cheeses) to sell.

Sounds good to me. Hexiros wouldn't mind taking up an odd job here and there... and a caravan guard is a better job than most. Especially for one who's taking on the habit of not staying in one place longer than he has to.

I didn't amend my vote :) I'm still against it, just wanted to put my thoughts out.

And yes, there was healing that used spells instead of surges (finite resource) do there were of course players who used the definition of 5 min short rest as an excuse to abuse the system

Sounds perfect. His work has typically been as enforcer/bodyguard for The Ravens. Does she have a connection to that thieves' guild, if she's a charlatan?

Excellent, please take 15gold - Rebekah's starting funds. If she did have a connection with the Guild, it would have been from a time she no longer chooses to remember. :)

Okay, I've got Gwylla, insecure and naive half-elf wizard out in the world at loose ends. I'm imagine her seeing Lady Rebekah, and being drawn to her, amazed at the way all the elven features Gwylla has been tortured for in her childhood, on Lady Rebekah work with grace and beauty. I'm not quite sure why Lady Rebekah would let the nerd girl follow her but I'm interested in tying in to somebody.

Well, Lady Rebekah would be most interested in have a female travelling companion, especially one as skilled and knowledgeable as Gwylla.

She will need someone to talk to.

I still have you as a nay for the rest option, but thought you were a yeah to the amendment (did I error)?

- make a short rest 5 mins long and a long rest 1 hour long
- spellcasters can only regain up to half their maximum spell slots (rounded down) and are limited to slots of 5th level or lower
- only after 8 hours of rest may a spellcaster regain 6th level or higher spell slots

I would be alright with changing the short rest time to around 15 minutes (sometimes less, sometimes more) depending on the wounds/exhaustion level of the group. And then leaving the long rest as is. This will be amendment 1. And of course you can't take a rest until after having completed an encounter that would cause strain/stress. Casting the same spell over and over is not strenuous.

Option:
Yeah: 1
Nay:3

Amendment:
