Argh, now you touched another problem: once a game-studio releases a mmorpg spinoff of a popular franchise, they tend to spend so many ressources on keeping that game fresh, up-to-date and running, that I feel that their future "offline" games tend to suffer.
Yes, Skyrim's old. It still gets played a lot, though. Do I hope for a TES: VI game? I sure do. But has anything been announced yet? I guess not.

I never played NWN, but I still want to say that I'd like to see a D&D 5e video game with combat by-the-rules (turn-based, not real time). I don't really need an editor / possibility to DM. Instead I want a story on par with the official adventure paths as well as the possibility to play with multiple players of which each can play 1-6 characters (total of 7).

I'll second this. I don't mind real-time, but I'd love a game that more closely resembled the turn-based nature of the RPG.

Zelda Breath of the Wild was a great game. Try it out if you haven't already.

!

I love me some Zelda, but I’m not as big a fan of open world games anymore. I like a lot about Skyrim, for instance, but I’ve never finished it because I didn’t find th actual story particularly engaging.

NWN EE being worked on Beamdog may be upgraded to 5e if there is enough interest if you believe their live stream recently. I would be willing to pay a lot for that.

On a separate note. A lot of you have mentioned "with combat similar to Divinity Original Sin 2," but have you played the 1st one? If so, how has the combat differed between the two? I would be all for a D&D game with combat similar to Divinity Original sin! That game overall was a great one!
I own the first one, its pretty good. I havent played the second one yet, but I hear good things. The dm mode is supposed to be sweet.

I wouldn’t want turn based, but something closer to the game engine of Dragon Age 2 (the best combat gameplay of the series, IMO)

You mean after you defeat all your enemies another wave magically appears, every time, for every combat?

I actually can't remember how combat went in DA2 except for that.

Wait! They're possibly going to overhaul the whole ruleset to D&D 5e? That would be a huge undertaking.

If so, hopefully they add all the feats, sub-classes, sub-races, and spells!

Skyrim's main quest isn't very compelling. The Witcher 3 on the other hand has an open world, and very engaging quests.
