The distinctive marks left by the spiked feet of the beetles are easy enough to follow in the softer ground of this particular hill. Following the tracks down the hill and into a narrowed valley, it appears that the beetles have been nesting in a natural pile of fallen leaves that have collected in hollow. Poking through the debris with his spear, Raven Elk does not discover any others, but he does uncover several extremely large grubs, possibly even larval forms of the deceased beetles.
