He doesn't understand the purpose of DCI numbers in Adventurer's League organized play when there is no effective means of truly policing against cheating. His original post was a hyperbolic, scattered, rant that was hard to follow and which resulted in some posts making fun of it.

Thanks for the update. Yeah, I have no interest in AL so wasn't following that.

Players rarely get the opportunity to talk back to the authority figures in their life, so it is extremely common for them to indulge in a little escapism and have a sassy, smart mouth to NPCs. And while it stretches credibility for the NPCs to take that kind of abuse, I do believe in letting players have some leeway when it comes to being a smart arse, since it is so cathartic for a huge number of people.
