I don't even think they are popular here. Advocating they are strong is a lot different than saying they are your favorite class.

Could be. Only one way to find out I guess...

They are both one of my favorite classes to play and one of the strongest IMO. But that's only one data point.

I did no such thing. He/she said: "Vote for what the "best" would mean to you" and I said "How it works best for you." Those mean pretty much the same thing.

I'm gonna say the same thing to you that was said to me earlier today. You are on my ignore list (and have been for a while), so please do not continue to reply to my posts or quote me. As @Umbran said in that post, to do so is considered harassment.

Thank you

That isn't harassment. The forum rules allow me to quote people that have ignored me.

So... in the real world, if someone asks you to leave them alone, and you persist in bothering them... that's harassment.

In our small electronic world, we generally don't think in such heavy legal terms. But, we do have some notion of propriety. When someone asks you to leave them alone, we expect you to do as they ask, so long as they don't engage with you. We have an ignore feature, but it isn't foolproof. Continuing to badger people who have clearly said they no longer want converse can become actionable.

That isn't harassment. The forum rules allow me to quote people that have ignored me.

Please reference Umbran's post above and react accordingly

Seems a pretty broad, open definition of "Best.'
So, what do I mean by the "best"? It doesn't matter. Whatever you consider it to mean, vote that way. Do you want DPR? Do you want most fun? Do you want most popular? Whatever! Vote for what the "best" would mean to you!!
Fighter, for instance, has consistently been the most popular class through all editions - when nothing but a d10 hd & permission to use all weapons and armor in the classic game, when sadly Tier 5 in 3.x, when a neatly balanced 'defender' in 4e, and now, in 5e - so you should expect it to do well in this poll. Likewise, DPR? Yeah, the fighter can dish it as well as anyone equally-optimized for it, and better than some. And those're just examples

Not as broad or open as you are implying IMO. It made best into "being the best at what those people want a member of that class to do" - which is surely 1 possible definition of best, but there are many others - Best = most powerful, best = most strong, best = most fun etc.

I dunno, I don't think bestness and popularity really line up very well.

Off topic. But I wonder if it can be construed as harassment if you don't want someone posting in the same thread as you and they continue to do so?

If you take the Bard and remove all spell casting, they are still an OK class, but not great class. Compare them to the rogue. The fact that they are OK then have a full casting package added on as well is incrediable.

They are OP but in that way that avoids scrutiny, as they do not pull huge damage numbers and they spread out their awesomeness amongst a few areas.

I agree. They are overpowered in - making other characters shine. Be it buffs, crowd control so the martial can clean up, debuffs, whatever.

But it doesn't steal the spotlight, so it's okay and under the radar.

I want more classes that make everyone else cooler.
