Arguments that place the blame/burden of understanding on the other person, and couch failure to grasp your truth as a flaw in the other person are insulting and thus doomed. What you are doing here is a good way to make sure that nobody listens to you.

Do not make it personal. Do not engage the ego of your reader if you want them to accept your point.

Is this statement true or untrue - Sometimes the beholder just doesn’t see what’s plainly before his eyes?

For some reason I really really dislike half elves.
Well, be prepared to see more of them. 'Cause they are the best alternative without variant human. Very close in flavor, two skills, two floating +1s, and about a third of classes are Cha primary anyway. Between standard human and half-elf,half-elf is more desirable.

A very good choice but certainly not universally the best. They make good bards, sorcerers, paladins, warlocks. Though even then - races like tieflings (given their long list of subraces) are quite good at those things as well. So are halflings.

Point is - there are quite a few good charisma races. But if you aren't after charisma then there's plenty of better options than half elf.

Not really and half elves also make good rogues as well with a side helping of charisma at least with the default array.

Tiefling get an int boost which is weak although variant Tieflings rock.

I wish there were more released and updated statistics from DNDBeyond on race/classs utilization. Human has historically be the most chosen race, but they don't differentiate between standard and variant in any of the data I've seen.

I'd love to see that breakdown and I'm sure they have it.

Half-elf has been third behind Human & Elf in all the released data I've seen, so they may not figure to be the replacement for variant humans we all think. It may be like how a 3rd party candidate splits the vote, so people who might have voted "variant human" are now voting "firbolg" or something :p

Variant human isn't dominating it either. That was demonstrated with the races showing humans in first place but the stats for feat usage being low. Humans and feat usage don't correlate like one would expect.

Casuals aren't powergamers, forums skew more hardcore.

If you've played a few editions you are more likely aware of thing like why people don't play high levels vs a casual who just wants to Chuck some dice.

Each edition also gets the this edition is perfect type crowds. Happened in the 3E and 4E forums.

So anybody that disagrees with you is just a blind fool?

You're entitled to your opinion, but give everyone a break on the whole "only I have a corner on the truth" bit.

If you are going to reply, the least you can do is answer the single question I asked. Was that statement true or untrue?
