All you have is 21st century theories
Theories are the meat of science and once they reach the point of being a theory they change slower, but they can change and get better with evidence the evidence of huge numbers of variations in the religion prior to the Council is stacking up not going away.
 

If I had to pick a worst offender it would be associating prayer with magic - which is not a commonly discussed change of anything.
Not in your circles, maybe, but it's certainly come up in discussion here in Pagan-friendly Victoria: there's a whole lot of parallels between Christian prayer and Wiccan magic - probably more than either group would really want to admit. :)

And @gyor from post 204: I'm pretty sure the anti-witchcraft law in Canada was repealed some years back; though I've got it in the back of my mind that the fraud laws were also reworded to cover fraudulent psychics.

Not the scientific theory. The commonly used lawman meaning of the word. Wasn't that obvious?

Just for reference. For a point like this - this is the proper way for it to be said to not come across as mocking Christianity.
