I have to agree. It seems Psion is winning so far.
As much of a 4E-apologist as I am, I must say that the Psion deserves the throne.
Psionics does have a much longer history with the game. Often it's been as controversial a history, but there's just no excuse for not putting it in print by now, even if it needs a whole book of its own to do it justice. The excuse for not putting it in the PH - that its sole PH1 appearance was not a class- was pretty thin.
Of course, that's just a matter of priority, and both should have been higher-priority the a fifth arcane class.
Really, only one of the 6 or 8 warlord builds, the Inspiring Warlord, got that rather odd treatment. The Warlord's main abilities have already been so spread-out and cannibalized
If you want to play a Psion you could just play a GOO Warlock, they even get telepathy. If you want to play a Warlord in 5E, you can play a Paladin multiclassed into battlemaster, or, even, just a paladin.
Neither is a valid point in 5e, which was designed conspicuously concept-first, with no clear line between fluff & crunch re-skinning like that is a fraught exercise requiring buy-in and effort from both player and DM.
