D&D 5E Godzilla is coming to Magic the Gathering, will he be stomping on Waterdeep next?

Pathfinder statted up all the kaiju in one of their bestiaries, with just enough changes to not infringe the IP.
I am a big fan of Pathfinder's kaiju; you can tell the devs were having a lot of fun when they built them. I imagine there are a lot of monsters ahead of them in the queue for PF2, but I am looking forward to when they make the PF2 versions.

If kaijus by Toho Studios were possible in D&D... then why not Transformers?
I think the expectation is that people would want to play the Transformers as PC's, which is less likely for Godzilla*. I think it would be hard to make 20-40 foot tall robot PC's in the same setting as elf and dwarf PC's, but I think they could do micromasters and Beast Wars Transformers (since most of them are PC sized). The cartoon BW Maximal and Predacon teams seem like they had roles similar to a number of PC classes.

* Now I am picturing a 10th level rogue thief Godzilla opening a really big lock.....

Pretty sure that Godzilla would look at the Tarrasque and say "Get lost midget" before kicking him out of Japan. Even the earliest version of Godzilla is 3 times the size of the tarrasque.

Godzilla has a size advantage and a Breath Weapon, but the Tarrasque has a pile of immunities and powerful regeneration, that it can shake off whatever Godzilla can do to it.

I'm a huge Godzilla fan, but I doubt a D&D statblock for him would do him justice.

Over the course of Godzilla's film career, he has:

  • Survived in an active volcano for over a year (Godzilla vs Biollante).
  • Swam through magma from a volcanic trench in the ocean to Mt. Fuji (Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth).
  • Been capable of detonating with enough force to fry the entire atmosphere (Godzilla vs Destoroyah).
  • Survived as a disembodied heart capable of regenerating into a new body (Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack).
  • Unleashed a breath weapon capable of rapidly spreading flames in a close range (Shin Godzilla).
  • Fired rays from his mouth, spines, and his tail (Shin Godzilla).
  • Been capable of using his roar as a sonic weapon, been able to cut down mountains with pressurized air launched by his tail, increased the air temperature around him to deadly heat, and had an effective range with his breath weapon that can hit spaceships in orbit (Godzilla Netflix Trilogy).

I also thought something like the maximals and predacons, or 3'-6' size transformers.

Other option may be a module about summoned monster pets. The game mechanic would be like a mixture of vestige pact magic and magic of incarnum, with points of essence lockede in the body chakras for metamagic effects (for example energy substitution).

But cybertronians transformers aren't only too big, but also too fast and (bulletproof) hard to be PCs or monster bosses in low level dungeons.

* If you really want a fun gameplay then you have to forget the idea of a faithful adaptation.

* I don't mind the rest of fandom. I would rather the godzilla by Trit Stats Pictures, because it wasn't a man within a costume.

* Monsters and superheroes too powerful are too boring for me, like those perfect Mary Sues from fan-fiction.

* A crossover Toho kaijus and Inhumanoids? (a forgotten Hasbro franchise but with a great potential with the right reboot).

Inhumanoids would be a good crossover with D&D. You largely just need the Inhumanoids and the magnetic twins. D'compose rocked--not only did he turn you undead with a touch, but giant-sized undead to boot.

No need to wait for magic cards to have Godzilla and kin in your D&D campaign. The tarrasque is Godzilla without his breath weapon and other Kiaju have had stats as far back as 2E (I used battra in a home campaign once, and there’s the whole “Isle of the Ape” for using Kong...)

Heck, take a look at X1 and tell me that’s not some form of Godzilla.

<EDIT> Funnily enough, back in the late 80’s/early 90’s, I ran a Con game with the Tarrasque stomping about Waterdeep’s harbor. Godzilla indeed!
The Tarrasque is not Godzilla. Just want to point that out (as a Godzilla fan). ;)

Please, one blast of BigG takes out the BigT. Not to mention the BigG is nigh indestructible and has regeneration too. ;)
