Here's a sizzle reel for The Bad Batch:

Looks like they join the Empire.

I'll watch it anyway but there only when I resubscribe for something better. Might like it though have to wait and see.

I can also see someone who looks like Fennec Shand from The Mandalorian.

Bad batch doesn't interest me that much. They were added in Season 7 clone wars. Kinda shoehorned in.

Still might be alright but I'll leave it for when I resubscribe for what as Disney+ atm is a floater.

Looks pretty interesting to me, especially since they're including Fennec. It looks like it takes place right at the beginning of the Empire, so clearly Fennec's been around for a while. (Another Star Wars female who doesn't seem to age.)

As an aside, that makes me think that The Last Jedi is also noteworthy for the number of older actresses who actually look their age (Carrie Fisher, Laura Dern, Amanda Laurence) instead of looking agelessly young.

Yep, several are designed to be single season shows as well.
Do you suppose that's what they mean by "event series" re: the Lando show?

Remember how things like this, that had between 2 and 5 parts, were called mini-series? Somewhere in the past couple of decades, limited-run series were added, which could be as much as 8 or 10 episodes. I guess event series is just a new, fancy name for a limited-run series. But either way, these types of shows have a set number of episodes and will tell a specific story arc.

Casting wasn't a major problem of TLJ.

Right! Gotcha.

Let's not go there.

Yes, I know, but they are announcing all of them at the same time.

Share price went up. Wonder if Disney sells some.

Might take years to make all of them, they announced 9 SW movies years ago 2 got cancelled, 3 are in limbo and another 3 are in limbo/unlikely to happen.

They need around 8 premium shows just to keep subscribers year round.

Once Mando finishes I doubt I'm the only one cancelling Disney+ and it's the only show on the service many people are watching.

I think Netflix has 8/10 top 10 streaming shows and Disney wants to be Netflix sized by 2023.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: live action, starring Ewen McGregor as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader; begins 10 years after Episode III
*Given the timeframe, I hope they don't mess up the idea that Obi-Wan and Vader haven't seen each other in a long time when they meet on the Death Star in Episode IV.
20 years works just as well as 30 years. It's not like Vader said "I haven't felt that presence since he chopped me up on Mustafar". There's only two lines it has to work with, and 20 years will do that just fine:

"A presence I haven't felt since...."
"When I left you I was but the learner. Now I am the master."

As long as when they meet in the TV show it's clear that Obi Wan is still wiser than Anakin, and Vader leaves having been a bit schooled, it works.
